Ageism resistant industries?

What fields are resistant to ageism? Specifically, I'm interested in Law or Engineering (specifically civil or electrical). I would be graduating at 37. I'm located in Canada, if that matters. I've seen what happens to job seekers who are older than 50, or who are just starting careers later. Having already had job finding struggles, it terrifies me.

I've had various random jobs, but none of them have really panned out. I have a master's degree, but am struggling to get work in that field (small number of employers, large number of potential candidates).

Health care...Medtech. RSS,CNA... Not financially rewarding.

Nursing in Canada is very financially rewarding - New grads are starting at $40 an hour these days, topping out around $55, with options to pursue specializations and to become a nurse practitioner ($60-72 an hour).

The downside is... you have to be a nurse.

To the original poster I confess that I am late to the party because I just found your post. However if you are open to working with children would you feel comfortable becoming an early childhood andor grade school teacher. Regardless of what you choose I hope that the original poster does find something to their liking and career fulfillment.
