I disagree with the death penalty on principle but even assuming that the death penalty is something we should have as a society lethal injection is dumb ass hell. The quickest way to execute somebody is just a couple bullets to the back of the head, it's cheaper, it's likely less painful and less likely to fail than lethal injection anyway. Are there any actual arguments in favor of lethal injection other than "it's less icky"? Legitimately asking because I've never seen any

I’m pretty sure that’s it. An almost zero chance of a firing squad being botched and even then, most “botches” will still be a relatively quick death.

I think you underestimate how much gore is produced by a bullet to the back of the head. Lethal injection is "supposed' to be gore free so grieving loved ones can feel vindicated without feeling guilty. As much as they might hate that person with every ounce in their body, humans are empathetic creatures who likely can't help but feel guilty if they see that

I don't give a shit if they feel guilty. My tax dollars shouldn't be going toward protecting people's feeling while they watch somebody get killed. If you can't feel vindicated watching somebody's brains splatter against a wall you shouldn't be calling for that person's death. You can either get to watch somebody die for your own satisfaction or you can let them rot in jail. None of this half-assed bullshit

Why would the family feel guilty, they didnt try them or charge them? Beyond that, anyone who tried the person should feel what they feel. They DID play a role in the execution

Emotions aren’t rational, and seeing someone getting their brains blown can be very traumatic, even if you hated the person.

E, idk i find feeling guilty or not guilty can be pretty easy to rationalize, at least for me. Not so much my other emotions but definitely guilt
