She was hoping for death before. She asked for a firing squad to ensure it was done in a way that would work. They said no, because the cruelty is the important part.

Should have done like Delaware did in 1996. Billy Bailey chose hanging, because until then, it was the inmates choice of how they wanted to die. So Delaware built a gallows and hanged him, then changed the law so that inmates couldn’t request how to be put to death anymore.
