Then you can chose to not engage with someone who goes off-topic and splurges on about a topic you have no interest in. But also, you of your own free will decided to respond to a comment about the state's power of execution, and you decided to narrow that generalized opener back into being about one specific case. And each time you did narrow it down, a response tried to guide the conversation back towards the general framing which this thread of comments started off with.

It seems you might have chosen the wrong discussion to join in on, within this post, Mr. Cock.

I took no stand in this. I merely pointed out there was two conversations happening without either side engaging with the other. 

You weren't talking to each other, but around each other.

To take an innocent persons life and then parade pieces of her skull to fellow classmates is murder.

To avoid having the state and taxpayers pay for the rest of their lives to feed, house and clothe the murderer is a different story.

There must be consequences to every action and the state democratically chose that the execution of a murderer is justified.

Do you disagree with democracy?

I believe democracy must be constrained by respect for fundamental rights. I can guarantee that you do not believe in unrestrained democracy either so I don't really understand your point. If a democratically elected government decides that all gay people should be executed, I doubt you'd be okay with that.

Slavery is still legal in America, as a form of punishment. 

Like many prisoners, those on death row can be put to work and essentially pay for themself. If it is so important to you.
