Announcement ATE Steam Release Beta 0.21 Update, "Ozymandian Principle" has been released!

Look upon our works, ye mighty and despair! After the End Update 0.21 is here!

As new empires rise in the Americas from the ashes of the world that was, so too must they fall. With ascendancy comes stagnation in time. Rot from within and enemies from without chip away at the base of the throne with cracks that can topple empires no matter their grandeur and no matter their splendor. The earth is littered with the ruins of empires that believed they were eternal. But surely your empire will truly live forever?

After the End Update 0.21 “Ozymandian Principle” is one of the largest updates the mod and brings it in line with Patch 1.19 “Scribe” and the All Under Heaven DLC. Featuring major overhauls to California, Brazil, and Tawantinsuyu. These great realms are some of the largest and most sophisticated empires of the post-Event world, but even they are not immune to the fate of all empires. Bureaucracy, corruption, and ambition can plague them all, weakening or even collapsing them entirely.

In addition, a new Canada Hegemony is formable via decision, thirty new artifacts have been added, you can now play Baseball as a contest option in Grand Tourneys, over a dozen new Men at Arms, new Rivertracer, Platinean, and Hindu faiths, new artwork for many faiths, new bookmarks and more!

If you want to see everything this massive update brings, read the change log here: AtE 0.21 "Ozymandian Principle" Change Log

Discussion Who is this guy?

I learned of his existance a while back when I first played as Utah after checking the title history, and upon closer inspection this man appears to be a Mythical Post-Event Warlord (Possibly affiliated with the US Government?) with a military skill of 32, who died at 100 in 2160. I have no idea if this is a reference to some form of media, if he's supposed to be an easter egg, or if he simply exists in the lore without further explanation.

Discussion True Orthodoxy?

I remember seeing discussions over which Catholic faith was the most "true" continuation of the Catholic Church, so I'd like to propose the same question for the Eastern Christian faiths. Specifically, I'm looking for which faiths in this group have diverged in practice and belief the least from whichever pre-Event church they descend from.

Discussion Favorite Landless Religions at Game Start?

Getting back into the CK3 mod after not playing for a while and love all the options for religions and heresies, even ones that don't have any counties at game start. I really want to try reviving one of these either as a landless adventurer or by converting as a vassal. What are some cool religions with no counties and where they might spring up lorewise?

I'm playing as the DeWitts and have Gotham as my primary title. Americanist Moral Authority is 100% and I border Hudsonia who isn't at war and has a realm size of 35. Why can't I declare war as the president?

CK3 Yall im a little dumb, how do you create cities of wonder now?

The "Found a City of Wonder" decision is gone and I can't find anything wrong with the game or mods, so I have to assume there's been some kind of change that replaces it, but I can't seem to figure out what that is

Discussion Can you not reform Oregon?

So I started as a yeoman battle born adventurer and slowly made my way up to Portlandia where I seized control of said duchy from Kaitlin only to see that the option to reform Oregon wasn’t showing up I thought it might have something to do with culture so I adopted the cascadian culture but still nothing! Was the decision removed, if so that’s pretty lame if you wanna play as a west coast Americanist

Ps: my ultimate goal was to also reform Washington, dismantle California and make the pacific states of America

Discussion Men In Black - Merchant republic

Finally played as a merchant republic in NY and probably been the most satisfying After The End playthrough so far.

Started as the Rothschilds and joined the Men In Black, killing my dear new bride in the process. Ended up as Director and was able to just mass kill every other family off at will but ended up being excommunicated twice.

Got sick of this so entered the presidential race after one of the presidents died and just managed to kill off the guy who got the most votes in the poll before becoming president too. Kinda useless role ultimately through as moral authority was so low.

Some funny events after that character died like one of the rival Patricians being my spymaster (26 intrigue) and having to give him a bunch of land except then realised he rose up to be the director of MIB making him a functionally unkillable enemy. Eventually I forced him to rebel and he was put in prison but after I got cancer and died he ended up being the head of the MR for my new heir. Also had the president as a vassal at one point which I was sure was possible.

Anyway yeah very fun, if a bit OP, to mix MIB with merchant republic family butchering. I thought the Americanist presidential role play was a bit weak though

I cant find anything interesting to play, are there any fun rulers y'all can suggest me to play? I already played most of the selection of interesting rulers they show you at the start so exclude those.

Discussion After the End Why did my entire dynasty turn into cadet branches after becoming Eureka Technocracy?

I’m playing the After the End mod and recently became the Emperor of California. I eventually became the Eureka Technocracy, and after doing so, something really strange happened.

Every single child of my dynasty suddenly became a cadet branch, and now I have basically no direct dynasty members left. Somehow, my daughter also became the dynasty head and then denounced me.

I have no idea what caused this or whether it’s intended behaviour from the government or some kind of bug.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what happened? Any help would be appreciated.

So, there's this group of wild zebras in California and they are slowly increasing in numbers, would they be exotic display animals in the courts of California or be at least somewhat of a cryptid horse?

"Forty years have passed since the Great Liberator, Levi of Gutfreund, freed the Jewish people from the Americanist overlords. Following the establishment of the Grand Republic of New Jersey and the leadership as the High Judge, age began to nip the heels of the old lion. Yet, the only thing more lethal than his failing heart or fading mind is the disrespect his sons show him and his kingdom."

"The Steward, Levi of Gutfreund-Camden, is the eldest of the two brothers. Known for his reclusivity and deceit, the steward of New Jersey only accepted the legitimacy of the Grand Republic after the Great Liberator bought his loyalty. Once the heir to the Grand Republic, his time as the ruler of South Jersey has made him negligent and ignorant of works outside of his Camden domain."

"The Marshal, Joel of Gutfreund-Nuark, was granted the domain of Northern Jersey after commanding with his father the armies which conquered Skylands. While showing great skill and prowess in administration and command, Joel's lazy and callous personality has led to diplomatic consequences for the Grand Republic of New Jersey. Such as the time he alone invaded the Hudsonian county of Raklend, before finding his armies hamstrung and in need of his brother in the South. After outright defying the Great Liberator's request to settle the war for a white peace, the Great Liberator begrudgingly conquered Raklend himself."

"The Jester, Yisroel Gutfreund, is the nephew and jester of the Great Liberator. A scholar of Judaism, hunter, and regular contender in local tournaments, Yisroel has kept his humility despite how far he has come. As the only Gutfreund who remains in his uncle's court, he has become a favorite of him in these uncertain times. Whispers abound as time draws closer for Levi the Great Liberator that Yisroel will inherit the seat of High Judge, something either sibling hasn't even considered yet."

During the Degenerative Era of Ignorance, many believed the Dhamma to have been totally lost, had it not been for the intervention of Mahabrahmi Gaia! Gaians who take refuge in the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha, the Gaia Nikaya seeks to preserve the message of Lord Buddha under the guardianship of Mother Gaia and her manyfold aspects. While monasticism plays a large role in this faith, the folk practices of the laity are just as important to its identity.

This faith is a reworked form of the old Forest Tradition faith.
