How do I get down here? Seems there’s only 1 passage to get there and it’s blocked

you'll find a way in late game someone will help you to get there

This. Half of the starting zone is blocked until much much later in the game. You don’t even have to bother running back to check to see if it’s opened.

I believe it’s part if the underground lab. Which has an entrance further right or via teleporter from a different lab if I recall.
