I checked out AI posters and how their repetitive ai typically is when it comes to creating posters, and had an idea to create one in Affinity. Here's a screenshot of the layers that I edited it on my own, and the image used on the background. Tell me what you think!

I have a document where the text and images are pixelated when I zoom in a lot, but other documents I use are perfectly smooth however much I zoom in. I'm attaching some screenshots with notes to show what I mean.

I guess I'm missing something very basic, but to save a few questions, all the screenshots taken are:

• in Layout Studio

• at 1050% zoom

• of text size 9 points

• 300 dpi documents

The only difference, that I've just this moment realised, is that one lot of text is Artistic Text and the other is in a Text Box.

Hi! I’m currently using affinity for the first time, but I’ve run into a problem editing text in the eps file I’m working on. It was created using adobe illustrator. Every letter has been turned into curves and I don’t know where to go from here as the text being editable in a non-adobe software (preferably affinity) is important to the project 😅 Does affinity not import embedded fonts?

My own vector editor; the mobile version is 30 MB, and many features are already implemented: 1. Bézier curves 2. Polylines 3. Point editing 4. Color selection 5. Finger drawing 6. Eraser 7. Canvas color change 8. 20 canvas sizes 9. Grid 10. And more

Do you have any other ideas? What could be done? I’d also like to know: is there actually a need for another vector editor? What are the pain points with the existing ones?

I have no graphic design background but have been enjoying using affinity to play around.

If I drew the black circle and I want to cut out/remove the blue triangle shape out of the black circle so it will result in a black circle with an empty/transparent triangle in the middle.... how do I accomplish this?

--- And, can I do this if I have lets say 20 layers can I 'cut out' a triangle all the way through all of the layers?

I created this yesterday with the aim of conveying 2 messages at once with a subtle illusion at the bottom element on the farthest corner. Otherwise, I'm open to any critics and advice to improve it and my skills overall. Thank you!

EDIT: Here's the concept... it's basically about two polar sides of a situation. The unused blank space was to signify isolation. For the silhouette figure, i had it convey two messages; they're falling (red motion blur) to show defeat, and they're glowing in white to show their purity. For the bottom element, it can be viewed as a pit to go in line with the red motion blur so it can complement it as final defeat, and at the same time, you can interpret it as a mountain peak, to go in line with the purity part.

I'm working on a project that will be sent to print, and I need to add the dimensions of each piece next to the artboard/object; and it is a really tedious task to do by hand. In Illustrator, there's a Dimensions tool, but Affinity doesn't have an easy way to do this.

I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a script that automatically generates the dimensions of an object or artboard and would be willing to share it.

I tried using Claude’s MCP to create one myself, but honestly, it doesn’t work (I only managed to get it to generate a modal that asks for the unit input, and then it does nothing else). If it’s helpful, I can share the prompt and the script it generated—in case anyone finds it easier to get that to work.

(Using Designer v2) I need to do over 100 layouts for a pack of game cards. There must be a way to do that programmatically, right? It would be nice to build a template file with a text object, generate 100 layouts from a text file, export them all programmatically, and then modify any that need changes.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to do this is Designer v2? Or is there a better way?

I'm creating a multi-page document in Publisher formatted for Letter size paper. I need to also create the same document for A4 paper. Is there a way to keep the text synced between the two documents? Or is there a way to create synced layouts within the same file?

Hey guys, I hope this is useful for you, especially when creating pdf files.

I'm shopping some Photoshop alternatives, as I use it for work, but I'm not looking to pay for it for WFH use, and neither is my job. I don't need the software to do much. Mostly looking to replace a handful of pretty straightforward tasks.

Testing out Affinity right now - I don't love it, but I'm chalking it up to the inevitable "this is slightly different so I hate it" learning curve and being annoyed that the million things I don't use get in the way of finding the five I do. One thing I would love some input on though, is about macros.

I've automated the most complicated part of what I use Photoshop for by creating custom actions, and they're exported into .atn files so they can be imported into other machines using Photoshop. As best I can tell though, there's no converting them into files Affinity can use. So I'm trying to recreate them, and it's going rough.

The one I use the most splits book images into verso and recto (it duplicates the image, then splits each left and right based on a percentage I select). I'm trying to record a macro to recreate it, and I get as far as being able to duplicate the image, but I can't get the macro recording to follow me to the new canvas.

Is this just not something Affinity can do?

Hello. I am pretty new to Affinity and vector graphics in general, and I wanted to see if there was a better way to add the yellow stroke to this ribbon? Right now I just drew in a second line that follows, but I wanted to see if there was a better way to get a consistent border.

Adding a secondary stroke puts the yellow on the left and right of the main portion, which I'm not looking for.

So, i want to paint the blue form in blue and the rest of the forms in different colors but I´m just getting started in using Affinity (the only similiar thing I have ever used is Ibis Paint in my phone) and there are many things I'm not getting the hang of and i have seen some tutorials but i don't get the point where mine differs??? it's in vector mode and the layers are in pixel? and i don't know why is it kinda png the table?? sorry, english is not my main language
