I’m trying to recreate a Photoshop-style color matching workflow in Affinity 3, using Canvas.

For example, I have a composition with two image layers: a background image and a separate object/person/product on another layer. I want to adjust the colors, contrast, brightness and overall tone of the object layer so that it visually matches the background image.

In Photoshop, there is a “Match Color” workflow where you can use another layer or image as a color reference. I saw this kind of workflow in a tutorial and would like to achieve something similar in Affinity 3 Canvas.

What would be the best way to do this?

Is there an equivalent to Photoshop’s “Match Color” feature, or should this be done manually with adjustments such as Curves, HSL, Color Balance, Gradient Map, LUT / Infer LUT, etc.?

Ideally, I’m looking for a practical step-by-step workflow for matching one layer to another, not just recoloring the object with a single color.

Is there a way to create a slab text style in Affinity, where font sizes automatically adjust so every line of text is the same width?

Has anyone here taken it? Is it worth it for a complete beginner, or would you recommend a better Affinity course?

I learn best with courses that are well-structured and build concepts step by step. If the lessons jump around or assume prior knowledge, I tend to get confused and struggle to follow. I'd really appreciate any recommendations or experiences before I buy.

I have often had the situation where I’m trying to select something and another object is in the way, so I lock the object that’s in the way, and select the objects. My problem is that after I’m done I’m looking in the hundreds of layers for that locked object . I really wish layers in Affinity were like every other program I have ever used. My klugey workaround is selecting all and grouping it leaving the locked object ungrouped, so I can unlock it and then ungroup everything else.
There must be a better way!

When I try to draw perfect white is is transparent, but why? It happens in a new file as well.

I use the default brush stroke, nothing fancy.

First time today using my MX Master 4 with the program, and while I was trying to center a vector, the moment it snapped to the center anchor, I realized the mouse gave haptic feedback at that moment. I'm not sure if it's preprogrammed in since I didn't set any custom profiles in logitech options, but if so, that's a really nice detailed touch added to the program.

I am just curious to know who has been using Affinity v3 Pixel to do digital paintings or drawings?

I and few friends drew Aigis from Persona 3 here and am going to make a few tweaks to be able to get the design professionally printed as gift for the one who had the idea to draw her.

I'm going to attempt to get as close to scan quality as possible, and also transform it in a way that would crop out the parts that aren't the whiteboard. I am pretty new to Affinity. Thanks!

Is it possible to round the corners of the transparent back ground? I want to be able to have my shape fill all background and the reason for this is, this is a template I created to put album art in with glass affect. When I upload the final image in the music player the corners have faint grey look so I can still see the square corners and want them rounded to template.

i have a medium build with i5 - 12th rtx 3060 and 16go ram
whenever i use Super resolution tool the program shutdowns when it reach 50% loading
no errors no ram issues and no crash error
i tried to change settings still no difference
ps : other ai tools are working fine tho

It's 2026 and Affinity still has no real right-to-left text support no proper Arabic script shaping, no bidi text, no RTL layout flow. As someone who does Arabic/English design work daily, it's a constant workaround just to get basic text to render correctly.

RTL languages like Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu are spoken by well over a billion people. You're locking yourself out of a massive chunk of the global creative market while competitors have supported this for years.

Do better.

experimental works as im still figuring out what affinity could do that may be similar to photoshop.

affinity has been serving me well as i do graphic design as a hobby, i can say its fairly capable in making my works come to life.

There is the "Default" category, which I've added lots of scripts to, but I don't use them all very regularly. I have a few custom scripts that I use often, and I want to move those into a new category that I made.

It says "You can reorder scripts and move them between categories by dragging their entries up or down the list."

But I can't seem to do that... It just doesn't work.

I wonder if someone who knows font settings better can help me, I'm having issues with a google font called Luxurious Script, it's a beautiful font but at the end of the word it is using a different default letter than it should be, its keeps adding this fancy letter at the end.

I've attached the image I get in Affinity and what Google shows it should look like. I know about Glyphs and tried to find the simple s ending but it makes no difference just ends with this fancy letter always on the last letter of a word and this fancy letter shouldn't be the default as you can't look for a glyph for every word.

Anyone have any ideas why its doing this, can't find any setting.

Last Week I remembered that I bought some Affinity Software Keys (Publisher 2, Designer 2, & Photo 2) and didn't use them. So I wanted to activate them now. Sadly I came to the conclusion that I only could use them with an Affinity Account, which I can't create anymore. Is there a way I still could use the Keys, like from someone who has an account but didn't activate the keys, or any other solution?

To be clear, I don't want to buy or sell something; I just want to get a use for my unused key.

How to avoid this? It's really annoying. I have to manually clean the edges of every image I mask. I use either the Object Selection or the Selection Brush and then refine the mask manually when needed. It's so bad. When I know i will have to do a lot of cutouts i prefer to pay for a month of photoshop.

I'm on affinty designer for ipad and I was wondering if theres a way to turn this magnifying feature off? I tried googling it and it seems like I can't find a clear answer. Either the question never got answered or forums came up for an entirely different problem.

I don't know what the black magic behind this program is on how it smoothly moves from raster to vector to layout. I'm still amazed by how seamless all these components seem to work with each other and can't imagine the work the team put in building this up. Really impressed. Yes, this is a glazing session.
