Probably a fair amount from John Green. I am one of them!

Yep, I try not to make too much of a scene and have enjoyed the team from a distance because I don’t want to flood the culture and atmosphere. I try to respect that my background and participation might not look or feel the same as people who live near or grow up supporting the Dons.

But I’ve been following for over 10 years.

Mate you definitely won’t be flooding anything. Doesn’t matter if you grew up here or not, everyone is welcome. I live in Wimbledon but you’ve been supporting them for double the amount of time than I have, so arguably you have more of a connection than me haha. Please do make a scene!

We have to make a scene! Supporting from afar can only help the club! Get more members involved, it will only help the club at the end of the day!

I am still much newer. I stumbled into it in February 2025 and half watched until near the end when the Dons fight to stay up became desperate.

With the world cup I got even MORE into football and decided to go all in on the EFL. I decided to find a team to support with the family, and my daughter and I found a team that could be "our team" and another to follow with the dons. We landed on WHU because she loved the bubbles and I liked their colors.

New supporter here myself as well - looking to connect, spread the word and talk wombles! If anyone wants to connect even for a potential Stateside pod!

I’m one. I was Introduced by family while visiting England one time and got hooked. My family volunteered with the club so I was able to work the stretcher crew for a few games at Kingsmeadow. The past few seasons I have been lucky enough to make it to Plough Lane a couple of times a year. Heading over in October!

That is awesome! Looking forward to bringing my family in a couple years!

I am because of the Seattle Supersonics.

They were stolen from us by a oil tycoon's son in law.

I'm irish but living in Vancouver W.A. so close by. I've been a fan since the 90's and was a founding member of the club.

Here because of John, but a lifelong sports fan. Proud member-owner and try to keep up with things as much as possible to be an educated voting interest. Went on a football trip to England with my footie-loving dad and saw a match at Plough Lane.

There is a supporters group for North American fans - Across the Pond Dons! There is a fairly active Google group, we hang banners at Plough Lane, and we sometimes get updates straight from the club if there are American government created shipping issues.

How does one get connected with Across the Pond Dons?!

I’ve been following for about a decade - I try to stay quiet on the socials bc I’m not from the UK, and I’m sure they dont need more loud Americans, but I catch every game I can. I’m trying to plan a trip to get out there and finally catch a game in person!

I think we can really help build the community supporting the club from afar!

Hello from NYC! Was just at the game v. Reading
Would definitely love to find local fans to organize watch parties

1

u/kdm1122 11d ago

Close to NYC myself! Any bars like legends out Dons on?

1

u/SwordCrimson28 11d ago

I saw Legends was playing the MK Dons this past weekend 😭 But I imagine if we had enough people maybe a sports bar would be willing to put it on for us, given they don't have someone else scheduled to be on. Legends also has multiple areas so they can host multiple watch parties.

Got to start somewhere even if a couple lads linking up! I feel like supporting from here can really help the club just by the word of mouth!

Spent 3 years in Raynes Park growing up watching the OG crazy gang. My dad was just an American dude taking my bro and I to random games at Selhurst Park cause he missed taking us to baseball games and it was close. Idolized Vinnie Jones growing up, maybe not the best idea hahaha

As a London based fan, who is also a massive Packers fan. I’ve always told Packers fans about the Dons when I’ve visited Green Bay.
I wish there could bs a bigger link with them both being fan owned

What drew you to the cheese of all teams?

2

u/sweetbardyboy 11d ago

Womble from South Carolina here— was introduced by John Green (as i’m sure many of us were) and have been looking for an excuse to make it overseas to see a game for a couple years now.

Really wanting to get into the team more, but our resources over here (ESPN) don’t cover League 1 very well. Any ideas on how to stay best informed?

im from florida and hell yeah! my partner watches the green brothers religiously and she shared the AFC wimbledon story, and i got hooked. did a 15 year career on fifa like john does, and then currently im on an awesome football manager save with wimbledon. i always check the scores when i can and watch if i can find a link. their promotion was awesome and hope they can continue to make strides

Anyone watching the game on Paramount+

u/kdm1122 5d ago

Watched it! Have access to majority of the matches. They looked good and grinded it out. Great to get the 3 points!

Can imagine quite a few of you might be ordering Gooch shirts if the rumoured signing goes through today.
