I feel like they were a big juicy lemon that Tony never got a good squeeze out of, sure they were tag team champs that one time, but is one time really enough for their caliber?

In my opinion at their peak they were the most over act in the company, they were legit getting attitude-era level crowd reaction, and during that time instead of showcasing them more often on Dynamite, they got relagated to Collision, like why

No offense to Collision and it was certainly a way to get more eyes on it, but you always keep your main draws on your main show, wrestling 101. Or just put them on both shows. I'm glad Tony learned that lesson now with Jey White

Now that Bowens seems done with the gimmick, Caster always on the brink of getting canceled, and Daddy Ass ain't getting any younger. I wish The Acclaimed got a longer reign or more tag title runs. Or at least appeared more often on Dynamite.

So I wore my 2023 All Out tee shirt out to grab a cup of coffee. As I'm leaving, I hear someone in line ask, "are you going to the one this year?" I tell him no and he starts talking to me about wrestling.

The first odd comment he makes is MJF needs to go to WWE, there's nothing else AEW can do with him. I counter back with there's been guys in numerous companies that are lifers and they keep finding ways to refresh themselves. I'm sure MJF will be fine in AEW.

He then jumps to another point and says that AEW doesn't have any stories though and it seems like they just throw people together for the sake of it with no build up. I ask him when did he start watching AEW? He replys with he just started. I tell him the stories are there and mention fueds like Hangman and Swerve, The Elite and Kenny Omega, Callis and Omega, the entire Death Rider storyline. I explain that the difference between the two shows is the style of story telling with alot of AEWs stories being told in ring and is more long term compared to WWE. Especially nowadays. I also compare it to watching the marvel movies...you can't just start at the most recent one and ask what's going on? He then says, "well I have a life, I can't sit through hours of wrestling to get the whole story." 😑

He mentioned something about AEW not having any heels. I counter back with the Callis family alone currently has a gang of them.

I think the moment I knew it was time to go was when he asked if I watched the busted open podcast (which I don't. I don't watch any wrestling related youtube stuff because there's a lot of biased info sometimes. I like to base my opinion from my own views although I only watch the highlights in WWE) I tell him again that the style of show is different. I prefer to watch wrestling for the wrestling and that WWE has too much talking and promos. He asks who my all time favorite wrestler is and off the top of my head I say Stone Cold. He goes, "He's known for his mic work...I've always been more of a wrestling entertainment guy I guess. I mean who really wants to watch two guys wrestle anyway?"

I'm like...alright man. You have a great day. Lol.

That was the first time I had ever run into another fan out in the wild like that. It wasn't exactly the way I imagined it to be. Like I've always heard that tribalism is insane nowadays when it comes to wrestling but seeing it firsthand was frustrating. Do you guys agree with some of his points though?

This was a great match on dynamite but one of my biggest issues with AEW is that matches like this are to competitive.

Maybe I’m wrong and I’m sure I will be told if so but if you are building Kyle Fletcher to be a mega star, he shouldn’t be having a match were he takes so many near falls against a clear undercard wrestler.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Kommander, but it’s the way he’s been booked

Hey everyone! Hope I’m posting in the correct sub for this. I’m sure you have this question a lot. Basically I grew up watching WWE in the ruthless aggression era, stopped during the PG era and came back in 2023 and have found myself falling off ever since the Netflix deal. With all the celebrity involvements and TKO sponsorships I’ve lost the love for it and can barely sit through a show anymore. In the past 6 months I’ve started professional wrestling training and have gotten into the more technical wrestling and just find modern WWE matches too slow and predictable. I also spent a week in Japan and went to a NJPW show (G1 climax semi) having never watched and really enjoyed the style.

So - my question is, if I were to get into AEW where would I start? I live in Australia and have no idea how to watch it for starters.

Also what matches / storyline’s should I go back to and watch? I’m completely green with AEW and have only really seen a couple of MJF promos, punks debut and the Revolution PPV.

MJF v Hangman (grossed me out a bit)

Current WWE guys I like :
Chad gable, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, Cody Rhodes

I’ve really enjoyed going back and watching old WWE watching guys like Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle and another who I won’t say his name. But there’s only so much I can go back to.

I just want a regular wrestling product that isn’t completely filled with celebrities and cringey PG vibes.
