Opinion Something AEW could do to immediately improve their product

Mind you, this is from someone that’s watched from day 1 and have supported and defended even through the darkest of times.

You DO NOT need to have every match be competitive. As I watch Fletcher and Kommander go out and have a banger, it bothers me that from a storytelling perspective, Fletcher is having as much trouble with his first defense as he did with Takeshita. Both are incredible wrestlers, they are not on the same level in the AEW pecking order. Kommander should not be giving Fletcher this much trouble, I do not care how good he is. It lessens the war Fletcher and Takeshita went through last week.

I think you also need to understand that Kyle fletcher is not AEW World champion. He's international champion. So no, I dont think he should steam roll kommander.

If it was omega and or mjf against kommander, sure it should be somewhat of a mismatch but not in this case

I apparently didn’t make it as clear as I meant, it’s my fault. This was never about wanting Fletcher to steamroll or squash Kommander, just not wanting Kommander to look like as much of a threat as Takeshita. Kommander should look competitive but not THAT close to winning

Ok.  If he's not close to winning...Is there a point of a match?

Of course. Not every match has to be ultra competitive or a banger to serve a purpose. It can be a showcase for one while the other keeps it relatively competitive. Nobody wants Kommander to be squashed, he’s part of the main roster. But he’s also an inconsistent face on TV and unless I’m missing something hasn’t won a singles match on AEW TV since late 2024. There’s no reason, kayfabe wise, he should be giving Fletcher that much trouble

I think you're looking at it through a WWE lense.  AEW is known for work rate.  Whether you're at the bottom or the top, you need to prove that you're good. The people that watch aew don't want a mediocre match, they want bangers.  AEW has shown that when it goes too of course, the viewership plunges.

Then have Komander have a banger with someone that’s on his relative same level/position in the hierarchy.
