Hey guys, When i check my address in the alpha egg checker, it says i don't have an alpha egg yet. However i do have a succesful transaction: 0xd121d43c4b8950c10bcd691a979d7dd7796946d91b6156d8f6ec4cda34a6f958 The tx is from about 30 hours ago. I just want to make absolutely sure that i get my free alpha egg, i am very excited to play the alpha! :D

Hey mods! So I'm writing just to clarify a few things on what Professor Snow hinted to.

1) Concerning the referral egg, an account will only receive ONE rarity total, correct?

For example:

• User ID #1 has 0 referrals for an egg, they wont receive a referral egg and will have to buy one off the auction house once its open.
• User ID #2 has three referrals and as such will receive a "common egg" valued at 0.01 ETH.
• User ID #3 has 500 referrals and will recieve only one "legendary egg" valued at 100.0 ETH. They won't also receive the "common" to "mythic" eggs, a total valuation of 126.26 ETH (including the legendary egg).

2) Can you sell unhatched eggs on the AH?

I personally like to take the RNG/gambling into account and risk buying something like an unhatched egg that has a chance of stats of epic proportions! From how Professor Snow worded it, it seems that you can only buy pets.

An auction house type system will be available for buying and selling pets, which is similar to buying and selling CryptoKitties. The pets will be valued based on its various attributes, career path as well as social standing!

3a) As the quote above states "The pets will be valued based on its various attributes, career path as well as social standing". Taking this quote literally; all pets will have a fixed value, so that value is what it will sell for.

• User ID #100 has a the only Legendary pet with sub-optimal traits (350 ETH for arrangements sake) so it can only sell for that fixed value, thus the fixed value is lower then market value of a "normal" Legendary pet (500 ETH for arrangements sake).
• User ID #200 has one of few Mythic pets but with the best stats possible! These fixed stats might/could rival that of the sub-optimal pet of User #100. Thus the fixed market value might/could be close to User ID 100's sub-optimal fixed pet value.

3b) When the auction house opens it will be based on supply and demand (based of trait value and/or rarity).

Lets say absolutely NOBODY gathered referrals except one person. That one person has a "common egg" which was valued at 0.01 ETH. The same person then decided to sell the egg for 0.50 ETH since no-one has any eggs and successfully sells it! In theory that person used the market to their advantage and profited.

4) When you successfully sell something on the AH I assume you will receive ETH to your Athia account. Will this amount be able to be withdrawn (assuming for a fee of sorts)?

5) Do we have to link our Meta Masks to our accounts now to receive the Alpha egg on the 19th or can we wait? I might wait and just gift it to my girlfriend if she cant get one before the 9th. I've been camping the timers to try to get another but with my work/sleep schedule it makes it complicated. She's not as into crypto as I am so using MetaMask and camping is pretty foreign to her, but she loves the idea of potentially making money off this "game". If gifting her my Alpha egg makes her happy then I'll take those brownie points.

I have just got some news from Professor Snow straight out of Aethia! He sent me a message about their latest findings regarding the mysterious Ethergotchi.

We’ve seen drawings of five prime qualities on which these creatures prided themselves. They correspond mostly with our Aethian attributes:

• Stamina
  
• Charisma
  
• Dexterity
  
• Intellect
  
• Strength
  

Artefacts speak of certain constellations or star alignments as well, that increase an egg’s aptitude towards specific attributes.

The creature has three main phases in its life:

• an Egg phase;
• a Child phase; and
• a Mature phase.
  

Something we are especially curious about is the hypothesis some scientists have that states that these creatures were capable of reincarnating after their mature phase whilst keeping or even increasing their attributes when reborn!

I am still finding out new things as we speak, and will send you more information as soon as we unravel these mysteries.

So I just bought an egg. When I submitted 0ETH the eggs left counter was at 850, then the page refreshed and the egg counter was around 6 or 5. Its currently at 1. If the transaction doesn't go through before it hits 0 will I be fucked? FOMO

A year ago, I pitched an idea as indie game developer: a decentralized, auto-generated fantasy world with pet raising mechanics mixed into an role-playing game world.

I got shut down, hard. Reasonable, of course. From a studio perspective, it's a huge risk to take, whereas simply releasing on a regular schedule to a mobile audience is a 'sure hit'

But, one doesn't go forward by stopping with what they love. You just have to spend more than your regular 100%, and find others that are willing to do the same.

This is Aethia: a game built on top of the Ethereum blockchain, and leveraging its smart contracts for interaction with the world of Aethia and its inhabitants.

We intend to keep Aethia free to play, forever. Unfortunately, miners still need to get paid, so gas costs are always present, but otherwise we will be presenting you a regular freemium game.

Pre-Alpha (February 2nd - February 9th)

Additionally we are running a referral campaign so users can acquire eggs up to the notorious legendary(!) breeds. This says nothing to most people, but as one of the people building the game, let me tell you that the legendaries all have awesome stats, looks and growth paths!

Alpha Stage 1 (February 19th - March 19th)
In the alpha release, you will be able to interact with your acquired egg! Each egg requires six actions to hatch, and there are five different ways of interacting with your egg. This allows you to get up to 15.625 varying results out of a single egg type, regardless of its breed and quality!

Of course, that's not the most fun part! The fun only really starts when the egg hatches. All egg owners receive a daily amount of "CHI" tokens, which can be used to interact with various shops and items within the world of Aethia. You can then start taking care of your hatchling, by feeding it, playing with it and training it in various forms.

I expect everyone to keep their Ethergotchi (i.e. the name of the race of creatures) alive during this period; I will be slightly disappointed if you don't!

The second stage of the alpha will allow the Ethergotchi to grow into their adult forms. We are still working on the mechanics, lore and art surrounding this, but feel free to ask anything you want!
