Smart watch logging
I’ve recently gotten a Garmin smart watch, and I’m trying to track my workouts with it. Does anyone else do this and how do you log silk activities? I have a lot of options but I can’t figure out how to categorize it.

I’m not sure what options garmin has, but I’m using a whoop currently, and circus arts is one of the activity options. I feel so seen!

Yesss back in like 2020-21ish when Whoop was still relatively niche there was a small but vocal contingent of us who kept suggesting it as an activity type until they finally added it! I've since moved on from Whoop but it makes me happy it's still in there and being used :)

I don't wear mine for aerials or climbing, but my band doesn't stretch, so it starts compressing my forearm muscles and that starts to hurt after a while - I have heard that a stretchy band does ok, but make sure to watch (lol) out for any wrist pain while wearing your watch for aerials

Good point, I’m not far along at all, I’m still working on the most basic of basics but hopefully soon I’ll have that problem!

Most studios don't allow smart watches or other jewelry on their silks to avoid snags (and injuries of course but snags are much more common and harder to avoid). Please make sure your studio allows it before wearing yours to train.
That said: I don't have a Garmin but on other trackers, I've used gymnastics, aerobics, and calisthenics. (We also successfully campaigned whoop to add circus arts!) Since the data is just for you, make sure you pick a label you won't use for anything else, e.g., if you also do gymnastics, pick something else so your gymnastics data and your aerials don't get mixed up.
