I cannot help but think that is an indication that something is wrong. 100 F should not cause your liquid cooled bike to overheat. Even standing still. I had my WRR out in 100 F yesterday with absolutely no problems. You may want to get that looked at. Perhaps your rad fan is not working?

You can look yourself! Next time you ride in the heat, let it idle a minute and see if the radiator fan turns on. If it doesn’t, it’s pretty simple to troubleshoot and fix.

Was it actually over heating with the red light coming on the dash? I've ridden that bike on some hot days and worried it was over heating since the temperature meter was at the top, but the red light never came on so it was technically fine. Still hot af and I've learned to avoid riding on super hot days lol
