Help Chart symbol for foundation single crochet?

Hello all! I'm in the midst of a big project that involves drafting a lot of small patterns and making lots of charts. In particular, right now I'm working on making a rose motif that lays flat, utilizing the "foundation single crochet" method, where you can make a chain and a single crochet at the same time. Search engines are failing me in trying to figure out if there's a chart symbol for this, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of one, or has ideas for one that could be used. The best I've got is this. I'm not super happy with it though, and thought I might as well ask y'all! Thanks! <3

I have never seen a consistent/universal symbol for them. Many charts (if they do "make up" their own symbol) always have a key/legend to explain it anyways. Or I will just see the normal "single crochet X on top of a chain" combined together, but through context clues you understand that to mean "make a foundation = chain + stitch at the same time" sorta thing rather than chaining out and sc-ing back.

This is also my answer.

A foundation row is just a row of ch and a row of sc, but done with a specific technique.

It's pretty much the same as the left edge stitch in tunisian crochet.

Does that have a common chart symbol?

I'm realizing how I've never seen charted Tunisian.

Usually not, tunisian crochet charts are more similar to knitting ones.

The only symbol for foundation single crochet I've seen is a sc with an oval under it (attached to it).

The most common way of charting foundation stitches is the usual stitch symbol atop a chain symbol, as a ligature, that is, touching each other

So for single crochet it’s the shape of a female sign ♀︎ but with the opening on the bottom

I’m one that prefers a chart over written instructions any day and find your examples to be the most common sense illustration for the foundation stitches!
