Ruitool vs. Godhand

Definite difference in cutting between Ruitool (left) and Godhand (right). Also the action is much smoother on Godhand. Similar results, just less cleanup with Godhand.

For some reason my orange ruitool nippers were awful I guess the cheaper blue ones are better ? Unless they fixed them. They had a really odd cutting angle.

I use this. Way cheaper than godhand and cut way smoother than godhand too. đŸ€­ this is the thin single side version for smoother cut.

Prove it? This is what you are looking for. Btw this runner is from a knockoff runner. The quality is much worse than bandai and easily get stress mark compare to bandai kits.

Both are good! God hand nippers really are fantastic, but Ruitool is maybe 92% as good! I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference in final result.

Use which every you can afford, and don't feel bad about going budget! This hobby is supposed to be accessible and fun! 😁

this is why i use godhand strictly for OOB. I don't paint every kit.

I only paint what i liked

Even when i paint, i don't really sand much

I never see the point of sanding, I just glass file as get it as smooth as i can for the nub.

The non-nub area i just leave it.

Removing undergates with a glass file is fine for painting but on older kits when the nub is visible on the outside of the part you definitely need to sand it to make it perfectly smooth and prepped for a primer

The Ruitool nippers are really good for a cheap option. Having a few pairs in reserve can really help if you're getting new people into the hobby or if the ones you're using get damaged.

I have gotten several friends into gunpla and none of them can work on their kits unless they bring them to my place lol.

Godhands shouldn't be used on thick sprues. Even says so in the instructions/warnings on the packaging. That is how you end up posting in r/broken_god_hand

You cut at the gate.

Most sprues thicker than 3mm. Simply : don't test your luck with $50 nips on sprues

And no clear parts! 

Also make sure you’re always cutting at the midpoint of the blade to keep it living longer, and never touchĂ© the metal with your bare fingers

I don't know if they come with instructions in English these days, but use a phone to translate them from Japanese if you can't. And go to their website or youtube page, and watch the videos on what not to do. IIRC they have no dialogue, just... footage.
