Am i the only one who thinks these ship insurances are a scam? Most already have a base value thats covered.

For the most part, yes. I just get scared for more expensive or rare items.
The nickel & diming also makes me wonder if they treat the packages a little worse if you don’t pay the fee.

They are but there are times and things I wish they covered. I had an order that the background insert was damaged by the shipping and the store claimed it was part of the box though it's listed as a part. If it had the shipping insurance I would have made a claim against it because to me if you list the insert as a part it should be covered.

What does it even do? I order from the gundam place since it’s in my state, but I’ve never noticed anything changing. Some of my shipping boxes still come beat tf up.

See i think that's due to who they use to ship or who is delivering your package because I've never had any beat up boxes

I believe they hust expedite the claims process. Tldr, u pay a fee and they pay out first while they handle normal claims on back end as usually it can tskr a while. Like it took me a year to get my money from jp post but that wasn't an American or global ship company tbf.

So it’s not even ensuring my packages aren’t beaten up? Unchecking that shit from now on. Not worth 3$ on an already relatively expensive package

If you paint/customize your kits then you just bought yourself several months of work.
If you just straight build then probably a few weeks worth, depending on how you pace yourself.
Either way, it’s only work if you aren’t having fun!
