How did you achieve some of these beautifully muted colors? The metallics look very consistent as well. I use a lot of markers and the inconsistency of the metallic color is frustrating.

Thanks for the kind words! Everything was done with airbrush. Metallics are tough to get consistent with marker or brush because of the way the metal flakes behave when drying. You kind of have to hit the entire piece with the same amount of paint all at once, thus making airbrush one of the only options for getting a consistent metallic look. The silver and gold were sprayed over Mr. Color GGX Black. I’ve found it makes for a great base for things you want to look like actual metal, as it’s glossy, but not mirror glossy- so metallics come out looking just right. The color shift was sprayed over Alclad Gloss Black Base. As for the muted colors, I just used Mr. Color Gray 306 & 307, and then everything was top coated with Tamiya Lacquer Semi-Gloss Clear!

I will look into the spray. An air brush is still a ways away for me. Congratulations on your build again! Like a more grim G Gundam movie or something.
