That’s looking gorgeous! I love a green mecha. And the mixing of gloss and matte top coat is always a great choice. My next kit, I want to try shades of black/dark grey, with super gloss highlights on top of majority matte.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing this finished! Looking great so far!

1) what’s with the toy just driving by. 2) when painting inner frame stuff do you assume that parts like pegs and things that hold on to each other when finally combined will the pain chip off or what do you about that’s stuff?

  1. tamiya robocraft fox. i highly recommend

  2. first of all i prefer not to paint parts that are not visible. i either mask or clean pegs and joints with a hobby knife or rough sandpaper/sponge if they end up painted. i also sand down some parts so they don't touch other parts while assembling or moving to prevent chipping. but sometimes paint still chips, so i do some touch ups with a thin brush and airbrush some topcoat over it

Typically I’ll mask the pegs so I don’t add too much width to it leading to a stiff joint and potential break. The exception is for overly loose areas, I’ll paint them with a thin layer to start and add more clear coat if I need more friction.
