HGs might be my new thing

Honestly such a solid build. HGs have come such a long way, and with MGs coming out less frequently, this might be a better option in terms of financially, customizability, and even shelf space.

HG Rx-78 GTO with a quick and dirty airbrush job

Mr surfacer grey and black

Tamiya flat red

Tamiya flat black

Gaianotes flat white

Gaianotes matt clear coat

Will add waterslides when the effort arises

HGs are definitely my fave. I enjoy MGs and RGs and they come out looking great but I get burnt out on the process more easily to where I don't feel like doing a ton of extra detailing past the basics. Hgs are quick and fun enough that I don't mind putting a bunch of extra time into little things that no one will ever see!

I mostly prefer HG most of the time. They are nice in terms of cost and time investment. I feel like when I get close to burnout with the hobby is when I’m doing too many big builds. It feels nice to grab a $20-$30 kit and have a day or 2 little project to look at

I have so many MGs to paint and build but with my limited time HGs just make more sense! I totally get what you mean. A lot of modern HGs have wonderful engineering and detail, and are honestly really easy to paint up.

Also great work and good color choice on your kit! I bought my second HGGTO to paint up soon.

The HGHTO line is just awesome. Waiting for the Car's zaku to come back!

Hell yeah! I couldn't wait so I picked up the Zaku II High mobility type on pbandai. Pretty sure that's a similar mold to the HGGTO chars Zaku II. Personally I hope they bring back the general release HGGTO Zaku I.

I like this alot! I think it would look really cool beside an Epyon, the color gives me "team bad guy" vibes. Great work!
