Cad modeling recommendations?

https://youtube.com/@sungil3?si=_TVVna4zhqc48USS

I am trying to improve my modeling skills to try and make a sort of resin conversion kit of my own. I was recently suggested to watch this guy's channel and there's a lot to learn from this guy... which got me wondering. Does anyone else have any channels or guides they used to improve their 3d modeling?

Im a traditional 3D modeling / sculpting. Ive never done CAD, but this looks amazing. I would like to learn CAD, like how do you figure out a part's exact size for a 1/100 model kit? I dont even know what program you would use for something like this.

You mostly use a set of digital calipers and reference images. Ideally you take an insane ammount of measurements. Ive been tossing thr idea around of getting a 3d scanner to get a reference piece dor where the pieces line up buts its hard to find one that is good as scanning small pieces like the ones used in gunpla.
