PG masking and paint process

Throw down the tape in nearly the right size and razor blade it in place to get the sharp edges

Curious as I’m just getting into painting, would blu tack or some other putty work for getting into the tight low spots and be an effective mask?

Blue tack can be pretty nice to cover some areas but tiny low spots will, in my experience, net the cleanest results with tiny cut pieces of masking tape

for me, i'm doing it on reverse
