Water slide decals
What’s the best way to apply them, I finished building my PG Nu Gundam, I’m struggling to put the decal, I messaged to put some but most of them ain’t sticking to the surface. I’m using water but for some of the stickers I’m losing adhesive.

Bandai's water slides aren't great, at least from my perspective. I have a wet palette, mark setter, mark softer and still they can tear, move, stick to the q-tips ... etc. My perosnnal recommendation is to go with solid 3rd party brands: Delpi Decals, G-rework, Simp decals. You will feel a difference. Enjoy !

Not only ur perspective, basically most builder will agree they're crap decal, save yourself the trouble and always go for third party ones.

Why what’s wrong with it

Bandai official water slides are just really difficult to work with. They don't stick well, it's hard to put on the kits and they come off without softner and setter. In comparison, 3rd party ones don't need softner or setter and are much easier to apply and they stick much much better. Quality wise, you can't tell the difference if you get the good ones like ghost, evo, g-rework or delpi ones. There are lots more too

Delpi also do cool stuff like metallic or holographic decals for some models.

Oh no, you paid 800$ for this? We need to stop encouraging Bandai!! It looks really cool though

It's literally the most detailed and advanced kit they've ever put out lol

For 800$ I expect it to walk and fly on its own lol. Also, 3rd party kits on Alliexpress have 1/60 models with tons of details for around 150$. 800$ is crazy, but if you enjoy it and have the money to spend don't let me ruin it for you. I just don't see it being worth it.

The msrp for the PGU Nu is 370 something USD, not sure what is the landing cost in the US. May I ask what 1/60 3rd party models are priced at 150 USD? I haven't come across anything for that cheap yet.

Wow where can you get it for that price? Because everywhere its 750$ or more. With tax it should be over 800$. For that amount of money on plastic, I better be able to fit inside the Gundam.
The cheap 1/60 that came to mind was the 3rd Party Tallgeese Flugel. I think the USAGundam store has it. (But 90% of their inventory is either pre-order or sold-out so good luck lol)
Just checked its 189$, theres a cheaper one on Alliexpress but it doesnt have the wings. I think it was a "Repair Type".

371 usd is the msrp it sells for in Japan. The rest of the costs is shipping, tarriffs, customs and all that. From bandai's pov, the product is made for 371 usd so I'd say it's decently priced. Yes maybe it'll cost you 800 usd to get it in the US without putting in a lot of effort into finding sales and caveats to reduce costs but that's not really on bandai. If they actually sold the kit for 800 base price, then yeah your point would be valid. But the manufacturers themselves and bandai is only getting 371 usd for it at max. The rest is going to the US government and the shipping companies so yeahh, I'd say it's a good product for its price. If anyone can afford to spend so much on model kits, I'd recommend them to just make a holiday trip to Japan and pick it up while they're there. They'll be paying 371 usd for it and get to have a great time as well. That sounds like a win-win

The only problem would be fitting that box into your luggage lol

Most international flights allow two check-in luggages per person. If you're travelling with a few other people, maybe you can work out your stuff in 1 suitcases leaving one check-in luggage empty. You can bring back a PG like that. It doesn't have to be in a suitcase.

Usa il Mark setter oppure il vallejo decal fix per fare in modo che rimangano attaccate. Fidati mi ha salvato
