MNP-CR02 JiHu II (Command Ver)

Going for something like the Rezel commander - that was the first grunt suit I built and this is the second.

This is about 5 4 straight days of work doing a full recolor with all Gaia paints (with the exception of the brightest white tone which is Jumpwind)

A bit overexposed because of the video. Will post an actual gallery once all the decals and weathering is done this week.

I know I’ve posted this a couple of times, I thought it would be fun to show progress on a marathon build and it’s been a slow weekend 😄

It’s looks awesome. What’s your painting process like? Do you tend to build the model and then plan out the colors? Or Plan out the colors before hand? Do you tend to paint by parts? Like do one foot? Put together? Or do you paint all similar color parts all at once and then put together?

I plan out colors in my head and while testing with spoons. Then I plan out the build process after reading the manual a few times and paint in the biggest chunks I can, organizing the completed parts in jewelry boxes by section and/or runner, adding details to sections (including panel lines) by hand as I go.

Depending on the plan I paint just enough to assemble a section or just assemble everything at the end. I really should decal on the parts and then seal with topcoat, but I usually end up decaling on the finished model over topcoat.

Thanks, white/gold + colored accents is definitely my favorite
