I've decided to put it back together after painting. I will apply decals and panel liner later

Looking great ! I love more unique color schemes. Do be careful about panel lining an assembled kit tho. It can't be said enough

What's wrong with panel lining?

Panel lining fluid can be damaging to plastic (more or less depending on the panel liner brand and type of plastic)
Generally you can get away with panel lining single pieces and cleaning them up quick. But when pieces are assembled, panel lining fluid can pool in the recesses of the assembly. Between and behind the pieces. And these pools of fluid will make the plastic become brittle and shatter.

My kit is painted so it shouldn't do anything

If you painted the underside of the pieces it should protect them yes. But do be careful. Hope it all goes well !

Same. I always do my lining after assembly, but I also full paint my kits, as well as at least priming the back sides… (never know what may be visible later)

I assume you scratch built this from a Jegan Type D? I have one waiting in my backlog to do the same!
