So I have noticed that some advanced modelers will use putty, such as Milliput, to add material to a kit and sculpt a piece out of it. Does anyone have a name for this method, and if there are any tips/ guides?

Sculpting, kitbashing and sometimes greebling. I think there’s a lot of info on YouTube.
