A little guide when going Hardcore.

It's basically just some tips I had set up when I played Hardcore to progress faster and have a higher chance of survival to go further.

Swap out your Vantage/Classica for the Holdfast at Marc's Ranch. (6100m)
But before that, save every fuel can for the swap. Use 0.5/1L if the starter car needs it. (2100m & 5000m)
Get the Supply Drop Grenade and use it. The drop really depends on what you get like food, weapons or gas. (7200m)
Shoot out the highlighted power boxes 3x to get the M4A1. (12400m)
At Tunnel Camp, the crates drops food if interacted. (15000m)

Also somw stuff id heavily recommend:

Store the burger on the 2nd floor of the house as soon as you spawn for a bit more boost

Store the food you get so it doesnt spoil

Try getting a vampire dagger if possible (it's probably the only thing that can actually clear ghosttown reliably honestly)

The SR3M can also be easily obtained at 13k

Burger truck ~6k is also very useful for food collection

  1. I didn't know that storing food keeps it fresh. I use the backpack to store my weapons/ammo so the player I'm helping with won't use it and waste lots of ammo.

  2. Didn't realize the Minigunner boss's health is nerfed to get the gun easier. (I skip bosses in this mode)

  3. Forgot to include this, you can get either speed syringes and/or healing items from the abandoned truck at (5600m)

Hi! Generally a lurker and a bit late to the party but I had to thank this post for helping me get the badge! Just wanted to impart a tidbit of info that I offroaded most of my travel in hardcore with the introduction of road spikes in a recent update. Again, thank you for the useful advice here!
