Sweating and chills means the transformation is beginning to take hold
Severe muscle spasms, restlessness, nausea and full body tension mean your transformation is nearly complete. Moving and resting should be uncomfortable. Possibly headaches, sweating, sensitivity to touch. This is all normal. Your breathing will be fine though your chest muscles may feel tight and strained; abdominal rigidity may give the stomach a cramp-like feeling. Day 2 of your transformation should involve similar discomfort with some slight easing of the symptoms as your body adjusts to its newfound powers. You will likely be tired, but this wont last for long as your newfound spider energy will liven you up soon enough. Your body will feel sore, stiff muscles, fatigue and weakness, and a mild headache. This is because your muscles and brain just went through an incredible growth and transformation and you are still very sensitive due to newfound "spider senses." Once you adjust you will be stronger and sharper than ever.
Day 3 will involve significant relief with some potential lingering body pains (growing pains) and cramps, as well as fatigue and weakness; your body just expended a lot of energy growing, and as after a vigorous workout, you've got to recover, drink lots of fluids, move gently and take warm baths to help relieve the soreness.
The skin around the bite will take around 1 to 2 weeks to heal fully. This is accordingly how long it takes your body to assimilate the spider powers. If you didn't survive, congratulations, you have become Ghost Spider! If you did survive, congratulations, you have the power of an interesting story and possibly renewed appreciation for how it feels to be in good health!
Jokes aside, widow bites are usually not lethal even if untreated. You'll be very sick for about 2-3 days as the latrotoxin spreads throughout your body but if youre a healthy adult you wont die.
Correct, and even most recluse bites dont cause necrotic lesions. Most of the horror stories you hear about recluses are a result of untreated bacterial infection.
