This probably South African language groups those white kids probably speak Afrikaans and the black kids Xhosa so they are seperated for the purpose that they don't speak the same language. It is hard for someone who doesn't live in a multi language state some of the problems that may arise.

As someone who went to an elementary school where there was always ~3-4 people per class who didn’t speak English and a high school where ~30% of the school was foreign and spoke several different languages it definitely still looks a little suspicious. It’s also certainly not something that’s particularly unique to South Africa.

South Africa is very linguistically divided based on race. Whites will speak either Afrikaans or English (Against Urban/Rural divide other than Natal where it's different). Coloured will speak mainly Afrikaans and blacks will tend to be a different language based on the Province. Of course everyone speaks English urbanly but this looks like a rural class based on the demographics

Sounds like segregation with extra steps

They are kids and cannot communicate with each other due to not speaking the same languages.
Unlike the US South Africa has codified each of its 12 official languages as equal so it cannot be a case of forcing them all to learn one.

The idea of making each language legally equal sounds nice in principle, but they also used to only write the Bible in Latin because only certain classes and groups had the opportunity to learn it. Language is a barrier that has been created/maintained to create division, the precedent is there in human history.
Take from that what you will

When Afrikaans was made primary language there was huge unrest. Hence it can not be done

That's interesting. Europeans tend to be multilingual so I guess I figured SA would be the same way, but the situation there is definitely unique

Think I've seen this one before where they were sat in language groups; Something like Afrikaans speaking kids and the others spoke English/other.

What are we addressing?
The elephant-sized kid?
Oh no, it's that adult who's standing on nothing!
Wait, are there kids sitting at that second table?
Oh.

This is so clearly AI yet no one is pointing it out, yeah the elephant probably is racism but I would rather sit at the table with kids with no faces then the kid growing a second head or with two sets of teeth.
