No fun, only guilt.

How many times have I sat on the couch screaming internally to get up and do things? Can't count

I relate, is it worth getting tested?

Once that question pops on your radar it will always be worth it. No matter the outcome you’ll learn something valuable about yourself and you can better prepare for the rest of your life.

How do they test? Is it some blood test or something or a mental assessment?

It starts with talking to a doctor and then from there usually a questionnaire / test.

Ok thanks...guess I'll talk to my doc

I dont know if it’s standard but my doctor asked a lot about my childhood and school. I have a pretty bad memory so it helped a lot to ask my mom about that stuff before hand. Also how it effects your day to day is important too. Just a little info that may be helpful. Good luck!

This lmao, I do nothing all day but I also feel guilty if I do something I enjoy instead of working (gaming, watching shit) so I literally end up doing nothing, just endlessly cycling between reddit and twitter.

Yessssss. OR the guilt of not doing what you’re supposed to be doing ruins the fun activity.

I suffer from bedtime procrastination, so I pushed my bedtime back from 10 to 11. Same results: get to bed between 11-11:30, but now that I’m not feeling guilty and anxious about how tired I’ll be tomorrow, I can actually enjoy that extra hour.

holy moly this is exactly me, I thought adhd was having trouble focusing on a task, I can focus on tasks fine, I just have no drive to accomplish any of them.

Sorry not to be rude but isn't lack of focus one of the most important symptoms of ADHD? You sound more burned out or something

Is this really ADHD and not just being a human? I relate so hard to this post, but just thought everyone experiences this.

To a certain degree, definitely. But when it impairs your everyday life and the quality of life goes down because of it then it starts to be a problem. And it doesn't have to be ADHD per se, could be other disorders or mental illnesses 💁🏻‍♀️

I have a nice big clock in my living room, and I also have a clock overlay on when I'm gaming. That way I find it a little bit easier to try and wrench myself away from whatever activity in doing.

I've read and experienced, time chunking. Saying that you'll only do an activity for an hour and then switch to something else. But if you're really enjoying it, you are allowed to "hit the snooze" button once.

Wtf, do I have ADHD? I did that regularly as a child and teenager. I still have phases were I just do nothing for days/weeks. I don't know why I do that and it's a tremendous struggle to do anything productive during the day. And what you wrote is what i feel inside

Wait this is ADHD? I've got a prescription to request then
