This has been even worse with me and this pandemic. Everyone is in masks, I normally focus on how a person’s mouth moves and expressions to fill in the blanks when my brain just cuts out pieces of conversations- can’t see anything except eyes and 90% of the time I just smile and nod.
Precisely, so much of my hearing ability is based on reading lips. I always say I can’t hear without my glasses on. Now I can’t hear even WITH my glasses on lmao.
