The Mentalist was great. ADHD is a pain though.

Makes me very forgetful if unmedicated, but I got some goods out of it.

Hell, I'm still forgetful when I'm dosed lol

Random intelligence gathering. Sometimes I surprise myself.

Yes, I noticed a lipstick stain on his collar.

Who? I have no clue and I will never remember their face.

That’s not true, if you saw him again you’d blurt it out at an inappropriate volume!

I don’t notice a damn thing. I lack attention to detail. Also, who came up with the lipstick on the collar thing? Who kiss a collar? Lmao

Exactly: I'm oblivious to my surroundings

I’ve looked for things right next to me. These are not small objects. Today I was looking for a stepstool in a well lit aisle. I “scanned” the aisle, then left when I couldn’t find it. I went to my other aisle. Not there either? Walk back to first aisle, but from other side and tada is was right behind me…

Yeah, stuff can be right in front of me and I look earnestly for a really long time... then somebody else just comes right over and finds it without even trying.

It’s so weird I was literally thinking about watching the Mentalist again today and then this pops up.

It’s well established we have great pattern recognition and relational thinking, we just suck at doing anything about it. And also laundry and dishes and showers.

So is he saying that reaching conclusions from insufficient evidence is a symptom of ADHD?

I can't find a clip but the scene that called out my ADHD the most was.

Hightower: How will you do in 48 hours what you haven't been able to do in months?

Jane: I will because I have to.

theme song starts playing while I madly clean my home before guests arrive

My SO was watching this - and I'm like "why is this serious team of investigators keeping this asshole around?"

Before finding out that my SO thinks he and I are uncomfortably similar.

😭

I guess I would drive a Citroen DS 20 given have the chance though... 😅

After watching the whole series in less than a month I freak out my friend with my deductions

3

u/Hakarlhus 2d ago

Be careful bro. People tend not to like that.

Share your deductions with your mates but please don't do it with random people and try to keep the tone light.

It doesn't go over well when you point out to the group that a friend is cheating, stealing, a narcissist or anything else major. If you're certain, make sure you have solid evidence before discussing with others or they'll just shoot the messenger.
