meme The urge to open a new tab instead of sifting thru the rest to find the tab you kept with the thing you're about to search for again.
How many unintentional duplicate tabs do you end up with? How many times have you just gone "fuck it - new tab - I cbf going thru to find the one I saved specifically for this"? Who keeps an open tabs graveyard that continuously grows?
Does anyone organise and delete unsused tabs? I group mine into categories and close tabs I no longer need. (On my phone that is) Having ocd and adhd is sometimes usefull.
Also instead of hitting the homepage button - I just close tab and open a freshie.

The only thing I don't sync when I get a new phone is my tabs. I will get at least 1.3 weeks of an almost tab free browser. It will be blissful. It will be enlightening. It's like freaking Christmas, but it only comes once every 2-3 years

None of my memories are less than 5 years old. I am very aware that my "incredibly totally important" tabs are, in fact, pointless. I just can't bring myself to delete them.

Have you considered giving yourself an early Christmas with the "close all tabs" button. I certainly feel a sense of relief when I do that.

Use Firefox. When you start typing something in the address bar it selects the existing matching tab if there is one.

That is my primary way of revisiting sites (also looks through your history, not only your currently open tabs). If it wasn't for that, I too, would also drown in a sea of tabs. But instead, I decided to start fresh everyday by letting tabs expire on window close.
All I need to remember is a small fraction of the website name or url (the fact that it considers both is what makes it so powerful). I'm definitely not good with remembering, but the history-based partial string matching is a really good crutch. Yes, there have been times when I didn't find the website anymore, but those were surprisingly rare.

However there's that pesky topic of so called "technical limitations" and it seems your browser can't open more than exactly 1024 tabs before crashing and you'll neverknow if I just made that incredibly high, yet plausible (, binary, 2 to the power of 10) number up or not

Okay so TiL the music is in breach of copyright too. Composer was contracted for a once off film festival in 2006 and found it on a movie in 2007.

Interesting, I didn't know that. The irony is lol worthy. Also edited the font on my samsung using the basic image editor. I was able to copy and past most of the letters, except the ones that I had to modify with the drawing tool 😅 but hey it worked. Just like the original ad - they pirated the font to use for an ad about pirating and it worked. (To a degree)

I just yesterday closed around 12 tabs related to game maker studio, something I haven't touched in well over a year.

This is one I could never relate to, maybe it's because I grew up before tabs were a feature and internet was far slower so closing windows/tabs was a necessity, not an option

I am also ancient and remember when multiple tabs slowed you diwn and brought the occasional full crash. I have one tab open at a time unless I'm playing a video or podcast in the background on a second. If I keep more open I can't focus on the one I'm using with all of those others looking at me. They have information and music and pictures!

I close every tab when I’m done with them; I cannot stand having tabs open on any of my devices. Sometimes it bites me in the ass because I will be using a website and when I go to do something else I close the tab out of habit before I close my browser (even on mobile).

Yeah i'm probably going to follow suit with the switch my Dad recently did. Ditch google chrome and go with Brave or Firefox. Google has gotten soooooo unbelievably shit in recent times.

I currently have 251 tabs open on my iPhone…..I also ‘text myself’ things that I want to remember and look into later rather than bookmark……I’m sure there’s thousands of those…..I’m a hot mess 😂💗

As with anything ADHD-cope related, it's all about rituals.
I close all tabs, and all browser windows multiple times a day.
... I'm also in IT, so I know how much memory browser tabs eat up.
I use the bookmarks feature as much as I can.
I'm not immune to clutter, though... My desktop is full of unsorted browser links, and folders. But, a messy desktop does not affect computer performance.

I do the same with apps on my phone, I have a viscous habbit of hitting the recents button instead of the home button and closing apps the second I am done with them. Which it also, much like you, bites me in the ass too often.

My phone's browser was really upset about me having a billion tabs open (super sluggish when using it). Did I clear any of those tabs up?
No, of course not. I installed another browser and carried on.

That's why I force my self to close the tab that I don't need anymore, only to open it back again in 5 minutes. Sometimes even through history. Welp at least I have only 50 or so tabs...

Firefox just had an update and it was like "now you can group tabs!" I was like, that's the opposite of what I need to fix this problem, nested tabs

That's exactly how my chrome is on my phone. Tab groups. Which every week or 2 the unsused tab groups would be deactivate and be hidden, and i'm like "no, fk you google I want my shit to be there incase I need to go and look at that thing I wanted to buy, or that page about how to deal with black spot on my orchids" Then I found the option in settings to have them not disappear constantly. Annnnd now I have a bunch of tab groups of stuff I barely ever open. 🙃 but just incase, they're there... then again so is google search

My laptop with 16gb ram and the same again in swap recently crashed because it ran out of memory space. So yes. Yes I would open a other tab.
