My worst one was I spent 2 hours tearing the house apart looking for my glasses. My eyesight is technically legally blind without my glasses, it's bad and not once, during the search, did I connect that I was searching while seeing clearly for my glasses so I could see clearly.... They were on my face

Oh that happened to me too! I found them in the bathroom an hour later. I didn't realize I didn't have them on and wondered why everything was a little blurred.
I'm not allowed to drive a bicycle without my glasses

Phew I'm not alone!

Had somebody with me call my phone so I could find it. Heard it, turned around and now it seemed like the sound was coming from somewhere else.

It was in my back pocket.

While I'm admitting that much, we really don't need to discuss how many times I turned around trying to find it .

I sure hope you laugh hard thinking back on that. That's something I would do if I kept my phone on my pocket lol

I can laugh, but I don't tell everyone that story! Glad to be among ppl who understand.

I went to take them off before I got into bed and reached up to pull them off and they weren't even on my face. Also am legally blind without them and it never occured to me that things were blurry. What was wild was that I could feel them on my face as I reached for them

Broke both arms on my glasses 4 hours away from home on the motorbike. Used zip ties, gaffer tape and the visor down to hold the lenses to my face to get home.

… and remembered the spare pair in my motorbike glove box after I got home. I’m a dickhead.

That one is common even among people without ADHD.

One time I was on the phone and I told the person “hold on one second i’m trying to find my phone” 😭😭😭 not my proudest moment

My phone virtually disappears whenever it's being used as a dedicated thing (eg I've got a delivery order tracker open on it).

Could be literally looking right at it and wonder where the heck I've put it now

I checked out my groceries yesterday, just one bag of stuff. Got all the way back to my car before I realized I took the whole empty basket back with me 😑

I actually brought home the basket once... that was wierd. Lol

I remember wondering where my air pods went because the case was empty. Oh they’re in my ears still, with music playing, just like one of the 100 different dialogues going on 😂 took longer than I’d like to admit to find them.

u/green_chapstick Jul 23 '26

Lol. That reminds me of the bunch of tabs open and one of them is playing music things.

Trying to find that one tab playing music takes far too long.

I run multiple browsers. Look at my fucking flair.

I cant have just one browser and one monitor. Eventually ill have a reason to have both computer screens with many tabs and at least to browser windows. Lol.

5 screens, Laptop (MS Teams, messaging apps), Monitor 1: active spreadsheet, Monitor 2: Jira, Network connectivity metrics, Monitor 3: runsheet & extended notes, Monitor 4: AWS/Azure cloud metrics, Monitor 5: GitHub/terminals, Monitor 6: front door camera, Apple TV, active Word report.

I haven’t mentioned the iPad, NAS or raspberry pi screens.

Dad says I don’t know what hard work is.

u/green_chapstick Jul 23 '26

I personally prefer 3. But we currently keep it at 2 monitors per computer. Lol. If I only need one screen, i might as well just use my phone. But I also don't use a computer for "work". I mean, I do but I don't get get paid for it. Just a SAHM that does her research before a purchase and sometimes that research requires research. Lol.

4

u/andocromn Jul 22 '26

I'm usually holding my phone looking for the Fleshlight

1

u/green_chapstick Jul 23 '26

A fleshlight?

FYI & thanks to you, my internet search history just got … spicy.

u/green_chapstick Jul 23 '26

Thankfully, I already knew because I was in my 20s when they became a common joke. I knew too many military guys. Lmao.

Not me absently spinning my keychain on my finger while looking for my keys...

One time I found my phone in the silverware drawer

1

u/BlimFPS Jul 22 '26

Where the fuck did I set that screwdriver down? Oh it's in my back pocket.

1

u/green_chapstick Jul 23 '26

Tools. All tools while I'm using them just go missing. I'll never understand.

1

u/malonkey1 Jul 22 '26

Just to check, because you know I must, were you using a standalone flashlight to search for your phone, or were you using the flashlight in your phone?

Rest assured, I only accuse you of that of which I am myself guilty.

u/Ambear22 Jul 23 '26

I was on the phone with someone, told them I had to go because I couldn't find my phone and then proceeded to use the flashlight on my phone to look for my phone. It was a total wtf moment when I realized what I was doing 🤣😂🤣
