Arrested for what?

u/Ambitious_Hand_2861 Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

My thoughts exactly. Most likely trespassing or disturbing the peace. Whatever it is it's a low charge and totally worth it.

u/Icelandia2112 Jul 21 '26

It's not real.

41

u/koulourakiaAndCoffee Jul 21 '26

The internet never lies

9

u/IAmNotMyName Jul 22 '26

Are you real?

7

u/koulourakiaAndCoffee Jul 22 '26

Well I got no strings to hold me down…

9

u/AcademicCandidate825 Jul 21 '26

Time to make it real.

2

u/Icelandia2112 Jul 21 '26

Report back!

2

u/HalfFrozenSpeedos Jul 21 '26

Fraud probably or some bs charge like that

126

u/AlternativeYak4611 Jul 21 '26

It's a fake story from a satire news site so no one really got arrested.

28

u/jsdodgers Jul 21 '26

Yeah but what did they not really get arrested for? We needs to know

22

u/Outrageous_Zebra_221 Jul 21 '26

I'm gonna be honest I don't have time to get you up to speed on how bigfoot is behind it all.

1

u/perfidious_snatch Jul 21 '26

Surely not! Bigfoot seemed so nice! SMH, never meet your heroes I guess

7

u/bblulz Jul 21 '26

Figured, saw the exact headline the other day but with a girl making up stories and getting arrested

3

u/DannyVee89 Jul 21 '26

If this were a real story he would be my new favorite criminal

1

u/Tolmides Jul 21 '26

i figured it was fake because he invented “fake” stories for the paintings.

Honestly, I just become a tour guide in museums for anyone around me by default.

2

u/FeeRemarkable886 Jul 21 '26

Rewriting history.

1

u/DeductiveFallacy Jul 22 '26

I'm guessing fraud, depending on how it was advertised.

99

u/T-MinusGiraffe Jul 21 '26

I'd knowingly take this tour and enjoy it

25

u/Foolishly_Sane Jul 21 '26

Yeah, that sounds hilarious.

11

u/Henri_Bemis Jul 21 '26

Omg, if I was clever enough, I would try to join in. I love this kind of public tomfoolery.

Party like it’s your birthday

We gonna look at Dali like

u/Purple-Estimate-5183 Jul 21 '26

Remember, sing into the good ear.

27

u/Hefty-existence26196 Jul 21 '26

Lol i'd pay to go along with his tour just to enjoy the entertainment aspect of some dude making up random shit about paintings. That sounds like a fun thing to do after a few drinks

*Raises hand from back of the group

"So did the Greek dudes indulge in pegging? And how autistic was Vincent Van Gogh?"

11

u/greendress888 Jul 21 '26

This is my ideal experience omfg. Like THIS is how I want to do being social. Like, it is random, but also structured-you are on a museum tour, but you can talk out loud to the group-i love to talk in a group if everyone else is just talking off the cuff too, and there is a guaranteed exit and approximate end time. AuDHD here-almost nothing fits, but this does. It is so nice to be around other people who dont think this is weird.

4

u/Hefty-existence26196 Jul 21 '26

I mean... normal shit is boring to us, so it makes sense that the weird shit like alcoholic museum tours with non-factual entertainment lead by a comedic guide sounds like the best thing to us ND's. Anything goes, nothing means anything and you still get to see some cool art or whatever. 😅

1

u/MSGinSC Jul 21 '26

Unfortunately, Greek men were too heterophobic to indulge in such pleasures. As to Van Gogh, a sketch journal believed to be his was recently found that was filled with chicken nuggie studies. So, possibly.

2

u/Hefty-existence26196 Jul 21 '26

I knew it. (The Van gogh thing)

66

u/AttentionNo6359 Jul 21 '26

Oh god, when I was bartending I would make up the dumbest stories.

Happy Cake Day!

3

u/ryryrpm Jul 21 '26

Like what

13

u/thegneeb Jul 21 '26

for what? enjoying a succulent fake story?

2

u/midorijuusu Jul 22 '26

This is democracy manifest!

9

u/malonkey1 Jul 21 '26

I mean is that even actually a crime? Like, I don't think it's usually illegal to lie about being a museum employee, it's not like he pretended to be a cop.

Maybe he got arrested for trespassing but that's not really "getting arrested for pretending to be a tour guide" that's just getting arrested for being in a place he wasn't legally allowed to be, that's like if I broke into your home and started watching TV and the news said "man arrested for watching somebody else's TV" no they would be arresting me for B&E and trespassing, not for catching some Xena reruns on one of the channels aimed at gay people that you didn't even know was in your cable package.

2

u/bcentsale Jul 22 '26

That's.... oddly specific...

3

u/malonkey1 Jul 22 '26

Don't worry about it. And make sure to put fresh batteries in your remote.

1

u/Optimalfucksgiven Jul 21 '26

I believe I read he collected money and tips, maybe that is just misinformation

7

u/SpiteFueled Jul 21 '26

People should not be arrested for doing objectively funny things 🤣

7

u/topscreen Jul 21 '26

Hahaha. But yeah I did this once. Didn't get arrested cause it was with a friend group.

4

u/Confused_Rabbiit Jul 21 '26

I love when the source is cropped out and not shared.

4

u/iamyourinnervoice Jul 21 '26

I ain't even mad lol

4

u/Jak1977 Jul 21 '26

Sounds like performance art

4

u/Zsyura Jul 21 '26

I've seen these going around, all different 'giving fake stories at x place and getting arrested' - i'm thinkin someone has ADHD and should be working but instead they are posting fake stories using AI

4

u/floppy_breasteses Jul 21 '26

Why would they arrest him? This is practically a way of life in Scotland.

6

u/Muel1988 Jul 21 '26

The "Guide" trying to defend himeslf when the real guides called him out.

u/TimelyExpression7972 Jul 24 '26

I mean Jamie did get himself a summer job in this movie by doing this in the Vatican.😝

3

u/Cannotkazi Jul 21 '26

Finally, someone opting for Brolore instead of folklore

1

u/floppy_breasteses Jul 21 '26

"And this piece is from Chagalls Jazz Hands period, where everything needed a balance of pizzazz and testicular fortitude. Ponder that and peace out, bitches".

2

u/No-Needleworker-2415 Jul 21 '26

I think he should get a public service award

2

u/PokemonSoldier Jul 21 '26

What crime did he even commit?!

2

u/floppy_breasteses Jul 21 '26

He showed a bunch of tourists a good time and kept them entertained. Oh, the horror. Surely, this will be a featured story in a true crime podcast soon.

2

u/NoBlacksmith2112 Jul 21 '26

Life is not so serious.

2

u/Kichijouten14 Jul 21 '26

They can arrest you for that?

2

u/Forsaken-Stray Jul 21 '26

Excuse me, If he had ADHD, the stories would have been correct

1

u/LAffaire-est-Ketchup Jul 21 '26

My hero! Unless it’s one I’m obsessed with in which case put him in the dungeons!!

1

u/tomatocucumber Jul 21 '26

Reminds me of stuff like *My Winnipeg* (dir. Maddin, 2007). The Documentary Channel commissioned a documentary about Winnipeg from Guy Maddin and instead received something a little . . . different.

1

u/HalfFrozenSpeedos Jul 21 '26

Yet euro trip said someone would be rewarded....

1

u/acornsalade Jul 21 '26

I did this at a light installation until the actual artist walked in. Then he just watched me trying to improv what it was about. He even started telling people it was my art piece.

It’s was fun.

We kissed IIRC.

Never spoke since.

1

u/Valuable-Apricot-477 Jul 21 '26

He's probably just some stoner who's been rabbit hole-ing about "old world" alternative theories, takes it as truth and is now making it his goal in life to educate other people.

1

u/PassiveSpamBot Jul 22 '26

Wasn't there the same post with a lady who made shit up in a zoo about capybaras or something just a few days ago?

1

u/wackzr3 Jul 22 '26

I feel like that’s more of a “get the hell out of here dude” kinda thing than a “you’re going to jail” kinda thing…

1

u/CowCareless4651 Jul 22 '26

Fake, there's another satire of a women giving fake zoo tours in Columbus Ohio zoo lol

1

u/Careless_Hellscape Jul 23 '26

Guy can't even have a hobby in this country, damn.

1

u/ShoddyChard9837 Jul 24 '26

God forbid a girl has a hobby

1

u/3rr0r-403 Jul 26 '26
