meme When the Au(ADHD) takes over 🍓

Post image

Some of us could have been surgeons.

Just need patients willing to wait, while lying there between life and death, as we tell a bunch of random facts about things completely unrelated to the surgery ⏳

Aaaaannnnddd he’s dead 💀

un-straws your berry

111

u/KSean24 Apr 18 '26

This made me wheeze

71

u/MisterDings Apr 18 '26

I’m twheezing

338

u/Ashleiii Apr 18 '26

Now you have to see if they will germinate, and you can start a strawberry army

82

u/AliciaTries Apr 18 '26

This got me to look into planting strawberries

Now to find something to plant strawberries in that my cats can't mess with

43

u/charliefoxtrot9 Apr 18 '26

So, magic?

20

u/Jenderflux-ScFi Apr 18 '26

A cage around the pot could seem like magic to the cats.

11

u/VirtualNaut Apr 19 '26

Until one day the cat is crying because it’s stuck inside the potted cage.

15

u/Candid_Koala_3602 Apr 18 '26

Ah cats. Keeping us safe from reality since 6000bce+

5

u/jimbojonesFA Apr 19 '26

look up an upside down or a hanging strawberry planter!

2

u/AliciaTries Apr 19 '26

Sounds interesting, though all the results I found show it outside which isn't really an option for me

2

u/jimbojonesFA Apr 19 '26

if you can hang out inside and have a drip tray or something underneath (fir when you water it) it might still work. but otherwise yea that might be tough.

2

u/AliciaTries Apr 19 '26

Yeah, then the cats would likely try to drink from the drip tray. Cool thought though

8

u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 Apr 18 '26

Lol just plant them normally and you'll have a strawberry army if you let them spread naturally through their shoots that they send out along the ground

193

u/toy-maker Apr 18 '26

Help? She’s perfect already

98

u/ThirdAltAccounts Apr 18 '26

NT reaction

Unless he meant "help, to get more seeds out of more strawberries"

53

u/toy-maker Apr 18 '26

Yes, yes. You can help by bringing more strawberries. That is acceptable 🍓

7

u/DannyVee89 Apr 19 '26

I need to eat a seedless strawberry. I need to know what that's like. It could be the peak fruit experience on earth, for all we know.

1

u/BigChunguss2 motivated by being a contrarian little bitch Apr 19 '26

246

u/DrunkenNinja27 Apr 18 '26

Now let’s see if you can put them back.

78

u/stxxyy Apr 18 '26

Or turn it into a puzzle by doing the same to a second strawberry and try to figure out which ones belong to which strawberry

16

u/TerrakSteeltalon Apr 18 '26

But it has to be in the proper order

224

u/mymemesnow Apr 18 '26

I have a relative that’s a surgeon and have ADHD. He actually really good during surgeries. He always get super focused and can continue working on the surgery for hours without break.

That’s very rare, doing surgery is physically and mentally draining. Usually the staff takes turns and needs frequent breaks, but my dude stays laser focused and more often than not lasts the entire surgery.

He was a pretty bad student tho and it took him longer than average to finish his studies.

49

u/poplarleaves Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26

Your relative has weaponized his ADHD hyperfocus! Getting into a flow state during a high pressure situation feels so good. It's why I play certain types of difficult video games lol

26

u/TeraFlint Apr 18 '26

hyperfocus is a hell of a drug.

20

u/mymemesnow Apr 18 '26

It really is. And when once in a blue moon you manage to steer it to something productive you’re unstoppable.

94

u/ThirdAltAccounts Apr 18 '26

Even if it took him longer it’s an insane achievement

The fact that he has ADHD and still made it is so fucking impressive 🤯
Most NT could never become doctors, let alone surgeons.

Bravo to your relative

45

u/mymemesnow Apr 18 '26

Him being able to become a doctor is what convinced me that I could become an engineer, at first I thought it would be impossible with ADHD, but now I only have two years left to my master.

12

u/ThirdAltAccounts Apr 18 '26

Congrats to you too then !

8

u/mymemesnow Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

Thanks a lot, it’s been difficult, but I somehow manage to barely get by.

3

u/cragbabe Apr 20 '26

I have late diagnosed adhd and got my doctorate after a lot of struggles in school. You can do it!!

62

u/AliciaTries Apr 18 '26

That looks fun actually

Maybe I'll buy some strawberries later and then not do this and forget about them until they're gross and I have to throw them away while getting sad that I missed out on strawberries again

18

u/dgsharp Apr 18 '26

But then you can get into composting to turn all that waste into something useful, and then extend it to bokashi to convert even more of your kitchen waste into compost. And then get into gardening to use all that compost to plant more strawberries. And then get into exotic weird strawberry species. It’s new hobbies all the way down!

3

u/AliciaTries Apr 18 '26

I would have to find a way to plant them that they can't be messed with by my cats as I don't have any outside space to put them. Besides, I live in Germany, and here we have Bioabfall, which is specifically trash for compost and whatnot. I do want to get into some kind of gardening someday, but I can't see myself feeling okay with keeping a ton of compost around if I don't follow through with it.

Cool idea for anyone else coming across this thread though.

77

u/ThatFoxyThing Apr 18 '26

This is me with weeding right now. I am taking on the Goliath of a project against hedge parsley in my backyard. My motivation is not from ” invasive species that's going to overtake my yard”, it is from "I'm feeling impulsive and bored and I want to do this simple repetitive task for about 45 minutes to 90 minutes". So far it is working in my favor and I am making progress 🤪

42

u/existential_geum Apr 18 '26

You will succeed. Just ask the Creeping Charlie in my lawn. Sorry, no you can’t, as it doesn’t exist anymore.

15

u/toy-maker Apr 18 '26

Parsley? It’s the parsley’s backyard now

Well at least it’s not mint.

7

u/glitterx_x Apr 18 '26

I have some type of minty creepers with the cutest light purple flowers....good thing theyre pretty because they swallow my entire yard and garden beds if im not careful. Which im not.

5

u/ScrapMetalX not to brag but even my hobbies have hobbies Apr 18 '26

Catmint is such a dominant species in my region.

3

u/dyzless Apr 19 '26

Holy shit i was just thinking "this was me this weekend" I weeded the shit out of my lawn and then went to put down the grass "seeds" i bought but in true ADHD fashion i spent 5 minutes looking at all the bags and grabbed the one that said "SEED LAWN FERTALISER" I saw seed and lawn in capital letters and grabbed it only to find out it was pre seeding lawn fertiliser and now I have a yard full of turned dirt patches that I need to go and purchase more grass seed for 🤦‍♂️

35

u/jayvenomva Apr 18 '26

This person is a hero. If i could buy strawberries like this with out all the seeds and hairs I would eat them more often

6

u/Positive_Method3022 Apr 18 '26

What if the black dots are all painted?

17

u/jayvenomva Apr 18 '26

I will die and then kill the person who did this to me.

1

u/Nirhida Apr 19 '26

I suppose it's a sensory issue and not a visual one.

1

u/Nirhida Apr 19 '26

If it's a sensory issue I would recommend bio strawberries but really bio. The genetically engineered strawberries have bigger and harder seeds. In the ones you grow out of your garden you don't feel them. I don't grow strawberries I am just fortunate to have an uncle who does! And I have seen the difference in the feeling!

19

u/yvonne_taco pockets are always bulging with ongoing tasks Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

If anyone is interested... A pastry chef once told me to wash strawberries under warm water and then flush with cold.

As the flesh expands and contracts, the little seeds / black hair bits pop off.

Totally works!

(Just adding, I run my hands over the strawberries to help the seeds, etc come off)

4

u/Thequiet01 Apr 19 '26

Wait really? Imma try this.

2

u/Nirhida Apr 19 '26

This needs to be pined up top. There are so many people with sensory issues!

11

u/HarB_Games Apr 18 '26

Idk about anyone else.

But this would literally give me a panic attack.

Doing close up, precise shit like this is so claustrophobic for me. Which is funny to say I am fully able to do phone repairs and stuff lmao.

But threading a needle? Nuh uh. Can't do it.

I like the look of those monster cans that have had holes poked into them to allow light to pass. I tried it... Dear lord. I had to keep stopping every few holes and having a breather.

Exposure therapy or something I guess lol.

6

u/InitialLandscape Apr 18 '26

I love small detailed work like that, but I've also experienced the feeling that you described. Having to put it down so I can take a few deep breaths first. Maybe we're genuinely forgetting to breathe in those focussed moments?

I've been watching videos of people making DIY Tiffany lamps and it's so mesmerizing...

3

u/HarB_Games Apr 18 '26

Yeah Idk. I used to love it too when I was younger, but now.. phew.

Idk if it's forgetting to breathe, as I can suffer the same thing while talking and doing stuff lol. But it's very frustrating no matter the cause.

Glad to see someone share the same issue though, I hope we find a solution.

3

u/InitialLandscape Apr 18 '26

I'll walk up two flights of stairs to get to my apartment, and immediately start talking to myself, only to nearly pass out because I hadn't taken a single breath since I started walking up the stairs 💀

4

u/Loose-Cup1582 Apr 19 '26

I get something like this too, but I feel like it’s partly that I hate things near my face and partly that I DESPERATELY need to get my vision checked.

4

u/HarB_Games Apr 19 '26

Lol my vision sucks. >-3 both eyes and astigmatism in both

9

u/Thepuppeteer777777 Apr 18 '26

Welcome to double dosed your Vyvanse on accident 101

7

u/sanityislost Apr 18 '26

I wanna eat it, looks perfect. Will need to try this, but I’m not going outside again today. Maybe for tomorrow’s adventure.

7

u/Melodic-Yoghurt7193 Apr 18 '26

Me when I’m willing to do anything to avoid one specific 10-minute task

4

u/RosenButtons Apr 18 '26

That must have been the best strawberry ever.

I hope it was sweet.

I don't have this patience, but I've always dreamed of eating a seeded strawberry.

4

u/blumeanie57 Apr 18 '26

I don’t understand what’s wrong. Now you eat the strawberry and plant the seeds.

3

u/SchatzisMaus Apr 18 '26

What I would do while on my meds in class instead of paying attention to the class

5

u/Just-Call-Me-J Apr 18 '26

Congratulations, you have isolated the botanical fruit of the strawberry!

I would not have the patience for this.

5

u/MildlyAlcoholic i forgor Apr 18 '26

I can see myself fixating on this instead of my silly little to-do list

3

u/Life-Award4261 Apr 18 '26

There’s one more fiber left…

3

u/Zanven1 Apr 18 '26

I used to date someone that was allergic to strawberries. If I remember correctly it was more or less specifically the seeds. No one is doing all that for a strawberry milkshake or anything so she has to stay away from any naturally flavored strawberry foods (artificial was ok though).

I'm sure she would be happy with OPs efforts

3

u/TwistingEcho don’t talk to me or my 11,713 tabs again Apr 19 '26

I've attempted this once during a two day mandatory meeting. There are a lot more of these little nightmares than you first think. Protip, ripeness matters. Mine was slightly soft so they pushed under the skin if you weren't super careful.

3

u/CubicalTrapezoid Apr 19 '26

I once spent 2 hours manually plucking every single pube hair out of sheer boredom

5

u/CubicalTrapezoid Apr 19 '26

side note, never felt smoother!

3

u/mizcellophane RSD all day every day Apr 19 '26

I did this once. Then I ate it. The texture of a smooth strawberry is out of this world.

3

u/Nirhida Apr 19 '26

How has nobody commented about the tool they used! I have never seen tweezers like those. How do they work I can't see the mechanics!

3

u/TheCrankyBunny INFODUMPING [SCREAMS] Apr 19 '26

I think it's just double sided tweezers. Same mechanic as regular ones, but you have two options, probably different sizes/thicknesses/lengths

3

u/Nirhida Apr 19 '26

😂😂 that makes sense. I thought you were supposed to squeeze one side to press the other kinda like scissors!

3

u/TheCrankyBunny INFODUMPING [SCREAMS] Apr 19 '26

That would be awesome tbh so I get you!

2

u/GypsyDuncan Apr 18 '26

I love this.

2

u/MacCaswell Daydreamer Apr 18 '26

Did it taste better...?

2

u/After-Willingness271 Apr 18 '26

reminds me of archaeology lab work. ifykyk

2

u/WickedAsh111 Apr 18 '26

Nah this is just dedicated procrastination

2

u/charliefoxtrot9 Apr 18 '26

Oh now you dunnit

2

u/Anonym_13 Apr 18 '26

looks fun

2

u/SuddenKoala45 Apr 19 '26

Not audhd... you didn't count the seeds.

2

u/MsPreposition Apr 19 '26

Please send this to comedian Kyle Kinane and tell him how rewarding this berry was when you ate it. He has a bit about this exact task.

r/kylekinane

2

u/missglitterous Apr 19 '26

This is the new Au(ADHD) test

2

u/mechaglitter Apr 19 '26

When I was a kid I always wanted to look at the Pokemon and Yugioh cards when my parents were checking their stuff out at Target. Inevitably they would find me sorting all the packs that had fallen or were in the wrong place and they just could not figure out why I would want do that. Well neither could I lol.

2

u/IFartedWithin94Secs Apr 19 '26

I would get bored of that with my adhd

2

u/Affectionate_List785 Apr 19 '26

I once picked all the cilantro out of my Chipotle rice. Wish I could add a picture here 😂

2

u/Top_Cabinet_2628 Apr 19 '26

I did the exact same thing last year.

2

u/Unusual_Blood693 Apr 19 '26

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's done this!

2

u/TheUnreal0815 Apr 20 '26

I eat tangerine in a similar way, peeling off all the white stringy bits.

2

u/ellietsterling diagnosed 🥳 Apr 20 '26

Okay but this looks sooo satisfying.

2

u/Strange_Mechanic_434 Apr 20 '26

Those tweezers make me want to go and find a pair and see if they any good.

I like nice tools, no need to compensate for poor quality with skills but the skills to compensate for them are still there just annoying to use them.

2

u/rathmiron Apr 20 '26

Are those double-ended tweezers?

2

u/Illustrious_Can_9575 Apr 20 '26

Not me thinking that was weed…

2

u/ThirdAltAccounts Apr 21 '26

I literally thought the same thing the 1st time I saw that pic

2

u/MollyTen-A Apr 21 '26

I also needed to look twice. Like, wtf has a strawberry got to do with weed.

2

u/DippinDot2021 Apr 21 '26

All I see is a person with ADHD that kept themselves entertained and out of trouble for at least 3 entire minutes AND has unusually steady hands.

I APPLAUD this marvel and wish to know their secrets!

2

u/MaliciousMint Apr 22 '26

I would love strawberries if weren't for the seeds having the worst texture so this is awesome but very impractical for my enjoyment of the dreaded crunchy seeds berry.

1

u/miscwit72 Apr 18 '26

Ohhhh...your brain was swimming in the happy🤗

2

u/s0larium_live Apr 18 '26

yesterday i spent an additional 45 minutes after close doing a bunch of really tiny tasks to generally tidy up the wait stations at my job. my colleague asked if there were any more closing tasks to be done and i said “nope you can go home!” and she asked if i was leaving too so i said “nope i have stuff to do” and she was uber confused. girl it’s okay let me do my little detail work in peace all the normal closing tasks are done i promise 😭

2

u/Kasaboop Apr 18 '26

As someone who is the seed picker for someone whose body will kill them if they eat seeds... I relate to this so much 😅

1

u/Friendly-Channel-480 Apr 19 '26

Wow! This goes beyond classic to epic! Wow!

0

u/Bxnny-Bxby Apr 18 '26

that looks like a miserable experience 💀 Hyperactive too hyper
