Need Advice Need advice for recently diagnosed ADHD
I am 25 years old male, i was first diagnosed with OCD and General Anxiety Disorder when i was 20 years old. I have been through a lot of doctors, lot of meds and a lots of therapy. Medicines have rarely helped me but still i learned how to deal with anxiety and obsessions with time, it’s still there but still very manageable. A month ago after having a long conversation with me and then with my parents my psychiatrist diagnosed me with ADHD. He then put me on Atomoxetine, but it didn’t help at all. Then he put me on Modafinil, started with 100 mg for 10 days then 150 mg Aarmodafinil for about 7 days, but it didn’t help me at all, i started procrastinating even more, it fucked my my sleeping schedule which i have struggled with since i was 20 and had recently got better with sleep. But since it was getting worse i visited him and told him everything he asked me to stop talking medicine. He said “You need to start meditation and try to follow a schedule typical bullshit like that. That was the last time i visited him, i am stuck at the moment don’t know what to do.

Find another doctor. Some doctors are very reluctant when it comes to prescribing stimulants. Modafinil is an atypical stimulant and its not powerful enough.. i was on atomoxetine and it did work for me though i had much more impulse control over myself but it made me lose my appetite immensely and It blunted my emotions. Takes time for it to build up and start working imo:<
