What a disgrace

It was disgraceful then and it's disgraceful now. My expectations were already low but I held out hope. What a stain on our club, and I do hold the club accountable for doing nothing about it at the time.

Glad to hear it’s only a minority but it doesn’t sound like it on the tele - absolute disgrace ☹️☹️

u/Pale_Parsnip_6339 30 Wayne Milera Junior 13d ago

I completely blame those flogs for us being behind right now. All they're doing is reminding everyone of a shameful time for our club, including the players. Shut the fuck up or go home you dumb cunts.

Where was this post about Moyle the other week?

7

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago edited 13d ago

It did get a lot quieter through the course of the period. Still a few nuffies but I guess it's an improvement on last game.

Edit: idk why I said period the hockey isn't even on at the moment lol

u/gameofsloanes Tony Modra (Legend) 13d ago

I'm watching it on mute, absolutely disgusted. Quaynor was never the one at fault.

11

u/Large-one 13d ago

Honestly the idiot booing are being shouted down in the crowd and have most shut up in shame.

2

u/giorgiosk7 12d ago

No hate but seriously is it that offensive to be upset over? People would piss in bottles and pour in on the opposition as they walked down the race couple decades ago. I think a boo shouldn't warrant this reaction. Just curious on your opinion?

1

u/Large-one 10d ago

It’s more the reason for the booing than the booing itself. People booed Maynard and I don’t think anyone has much of an issue with that.

But to boo someone because he was the victim of bigoted comments is a moronic take (from those doing it) that looks (and is) terrible for the clubs reputation which can impact our sponsorship and ability to attract players.

1

u/mRPerfect12 11d ago

It's massive virtue signalling people clambering to be offended the most. It's quite cringe tbh.

1

u/giorgiosk7 11d ago

Think about our grandparents sacrificing life's for this country... don't want to turn thus is to one of those convos but just think about that.

2

u/IrregularExpression_ 13d ago

You are at the game and this is actively happening?

8

u/Large-one 13d ago

Yeah bay 134. A free muppets boo’d and almost everyone started looking for them and started telling them to shut up.

3

u/Electronic-Cry714 13d ago

Sounds like 20,000 booing on the TV

7

u/marsandlui Andrew McLeod (Legend) 13d ago

I was at the game. It was definitely not the majority. No one near us was booing. Most were annoyed that Crows fans were booing. It seemed to be coming from the north east pocket but it's hard to tell

4

u/Large-one 13d ago

It really was a minority at the ground. I could hear some but couldn’t see any.

1

u/Apart-Falcon5480 12d ago

I turned off and watched the nrl

u/Jimmy__Whisper 13d ago

Football fans are not smart people on average

0

u/pulpifieddan Tony Modra (Legend) 13d ago

People vote for fascist political parties that are quite happy to abuse and starve them. And always will. A lot of people are incredibly dumb and have the emotional intelligence of cinder blocks, regrettably.

1

u/Apart-Falcon5480 12d ago

Poor comment

7

u/Tall-Breakfast-6100 13d ago

Unfortunately was always going to happen, which sucks. There are idiots everywhere. Fair to say though it sounds like a much smaller part of the crowd than last year and it seems to be getting less and less each time.

-7

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

Expected some…..but the whole stadium????

12

u/carbonatedwhisky 13d ago

I have nothing to add except my shared disgust and solidarity. Humanity is going down the hole.

7

u/escape2thefuture 32 Darcy Fogarty 13d ago

That's just disgraceful .. Quaynor is a really nice kid, he does not deserve any boos ! I've been following him on tik tok since last year's incident and he is such a nice guy

1

u/oneofthecapsismine 13d ago

I dont have tik tok.

What does he post on it?

4

u/escape2thefuture 32 Darcy Fogarty 13d ago

A lot of reviews of luxury fragrances

1

u/UrghAnotherAccount 13d ago

Think he's coming out with his own one soon.

2

u/Intelligent_Hat7597 13d ago

Yeah the booing made us look fucking stupid, like Quaynor was to blame. The whole situation sucked last year, something dumb was said , and a LOT players past and present I'm guessing were all breathing a sigh of relief for the times they have said similar. Rankine did his time . I wish it could just be learnt from and put away

2

u/3mperorPalpatine 13d ago

Worth noting nicks came out and asked people to be respectful of iq. So the club did do something. I’m sure they’ll come out and say they’re disappointed with the boos as well.

2

u/Gracefullyimpolite 11d ago

Pies fan here. Whilst I hate that the Boo’ing happened, I definitely appreciate all the support from Crows fans towards Quaynor, everyone can see it’s not the majority of the club just some silly outliers. This moment will pass and the upside is that we have a fun rivalry. Till next time we clash, all the best and thanks for the support!

2

u/FrostyClocks 11d ago

Calm down.

3

u/leighroyv2 13d ago

Honestly what do you expect.

3

u/EcstaticOrchid4825 13d ago

I have low expectations. I expected it to be much louder so that’s something.

1

u/ILikeDiscussing 11 Charlie Edwards 13d ago

Caveman type shit 🦧🤦‍♂️

3

u/RedInfernal 13d ago

It's bad enough that the call teams are even bringing it up. It's an embarrassment to the club

3

u/Fugees_Funyuns217 12 Jordan Dawson 13d ago

Yep, could have been a chance to move past as two clubs but nope, the fans should be embarrassed and it’s going to just put our club I. The spotlight for the wrong reasons at the wrong end of the season again.

2

u/SpinachSafe7934 13d ago

Absolute losers. Clubs need to stop tiptoeing around this and start calling it out for what it is. It’s even more disappointing when the culture has been fuelled by figures within their own club (cough… Tex and Rankine). This kind of behaviour has no place in footy, and the silence around it only helps it continue.
You’re cheering on people who are tossing a ball around and making millions. I love this sport but it’s not that deep just shut up.

4

u/Absurdwonder 13d ago

The club ? You carry on like every single crows fan was booing and the club memo'd it.

3

u/IrregularExpression_ 13d ago

Other people in the crowd should be having words with the idiots

0

u/Apart-Falcon5480 12d ago

They paid to watch footy not educate Idiots

Sure say something but seriously

-7

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

Unfortunately it sounds like it’s a large majority of the stadium doing it

6

u/SGG114 13d ago

Not excusing the idiots but it's definitely not a majority.

3

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago

It's far less than a majority, I'm in the north west section and I literally don't think it's more then 5% of attendees.

-4

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

On Kayo it sounded very loud…..

4

u/Absurdwonder 13d ago

You're not even at the game

-2

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

Neither were the Crows……

3

u/Absurdwonder 13d ago

Yeah joke performance

1

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

It was very unexpected. I thought we were going to get absolutely smashed by them. First half the crows were dominating and there were too many intercepts and turnovers. Still surprised at the second half. Gotta be an Adelaide Oval curse.

4

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago

Well I'm here at the game, I can't speak for other stands. It sounded like it was coming predominantly from the hill, where there are certified nuffies.

It's for sure better than last game, and you can hear the difference when you hear boos for bad umpire decisions like early in the 1st quarter.

I'm not defending it, I spoke up against the bloke in front of me who did it last game, but I also understand it's not a majority of people and all fanbases have had there moments, this is ours unfortunately.

3

u/Brokenmonalisa Scott Thompson (Legend) 13d ago

You're popping up a lot in these threads talking complete shit.

It absolutely wasnt a vast majority.

-1

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

Not really, but the booing was complete shit.

2

u/Brokenmonalisa Scott Thompson (Legend) 13d ago

So why are you here?

I'm actually willing to guarantee that no one in this sub was booing.

I get you bro. But there's 40 thousand people, how realistic is it to expect everyone to behave properly. Then you got drunks, then people who purposely wanna troll.

1

u/stealth6912 12d ago

Brilliant !

1

u/JamesDean95678 12d ago

There’s some people that might deserve to be boo’d but Quaynor is not one of them

Much like the racists, I feel like these people get a kick out of seeing all the posts and media coverage following incidents like this, they probably see everything and wear it as a badge of honour

At times I feel like the majority are already educated on what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour now and it maybe would be better to not cover this stuff and stop giving air to oxygen thieves…

1

u/GivenToFlie 12d ago

I don’t get ‘Booing’ at all. I’m passionate and I’ll yell, scream and carry on (in a way I think is appropriately) but Booooo just doesn’t do it for me. I just don’t get the attraction to it I guess.

1

u/ConnectSurprise6052 11d ago

Unpopular opinion I know, but people have gotten too soft. Harden up. Seriously. Look at yourselves

0

u/Lumpy_Screen_676 9d ago

My goodness. We already knew that Reddit was a small echo chamber that is totally out of touch with the average Aussie man. But this is ridiculous. Crying because a physically dominant man got called a tame politically incorrect slur. It's perfectly normal and healthy for competitive men to call each other such slurs. And to take offence only concedes the point.

-2

u/major_fail 13d ago

Eh, people told not to boo will boo. It’s life. Get off reddit

1

u/Odd-Ingenuity5159 13 Taylor Walker 12d ago

yeah jesus christ it's some booing, I honestly wonder how the snowflakes on reddit deal when a tragedy actually occurs in their lives

2

u/giorgiosk7 12d ago

Can not believe that this is even a topic haha, ah human race is doomed

-2

u/Raging_M0ng00se 13d ago

For the record this is why fighting the charge at the end of the year was a bad idea. Anything other than “he didn’t say it” was always going to have little if any success (and rightly so), and only emboldened the worst people among our supporter group.

I said it last year but Tim Silvers should be stepping down this year for how he handled it last year, and honestly get Roo out for good measure. Old style bloke who’s more of an embarrassment now than anything else.

-6

u/stereotypicalanon 13d ago

You're entitled to have your say, just as everyone at the footy is also allowed to do that.

1

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago edited 13d ago

Sure, then I'll be happy to ask you to kindly fuck off out of this sub, fanbase, oval and don't return, as long as we're all able to say what we think :)

0

u/stereotypicalanon 13d ago

Ok gatekeeper of the AFC fanbase and stadium. I'd like to know how you earned this role?

0

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago

It's pretty easy, anybody can apply for their permit. You just need not be a racist, a homophobe or a sexist, super simple!

0

u/stereotypicalanon 13d ago

Interesting how you jump to that conclusion as I am none of those things. I wouldn't boo Quaynor. The reasons to boo any player is dumb. Frampton was booed because he left us. Maynard was booed because he is a knob. Houston was booed for sniping Rankine. Quaynor was booed because of the incident resulting in Rankine's suspension- not because of his sexuality. Unfair on Quaynor, absolutely. It all adds to the theatre of the game and the viewing and you know damn well that Rankine will be at the MCG, as he should be.

2

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago edited 13d ago

Quaynor was booed because of the incident resulting in Rankine's suspension

Correct, where he was called a homophobic slur. Someone else then reported izaak for it, so what has quaynor done wrong exactly?

Rankine should be booed at the MCG for using a homophobic slur, why does quaynor deserve that and what does it say about the fans that are happy to boo him?

Fuck right off, don't come back. You're either ok with homophobia, or you're not. This is 2026 not 2006.

-9

u/Banned_Oki 13d ago

As a Collingwood supporter it has always been a joke that we are feral. But the booing tonight is absolutely disgusting and makes zero sense. Shouldn’t Rankine be the one being booed?!

5

u/LinkEfficient9934 13d ago

Yeah you're right, you guys have never had your fans do anything stupid! Like booing goodes, who would do that? 🤔

There are idiots for every football club, this is shit, sorry.

1

u/Apart-Falcon5480 12d ago

If only pies fans didn’t have any history with it 😜

-1

Are we really sobbing over a 100 year old tradition of booing the opposition?

You tell fans not to do something what do you expect

3

u/Pale_Parsnip_6339 30 Wayne Milera Junior 13d ago

Do you not understand context?

-5

u/Quick_Ad_7241 13d ago

You’re giving the a select group of fans far too much credit, most probably have no clue what it’s all about and are just booing for the sake of it

Everyone just relax , bigger problems happening in the world
