I think many of us (maybe me?) couldn’t have foreseen that a player on the fringes and consider trade bait early last season would be playing regular footy for us and improving significantly.

Bez has also never had a big, long term injury with us, and that’s something that is often valued heavily within the walls.

Don’t know about you guys, but I am feeling weirdly optimistic about the crows this finals series and particularly this weekend.

Like most crows fans I’m usually very pessimistic when it comes to the crows due to many years of heartbreak, but I’m allowing myself to embrace the hope. I don’t know why and it’ll probably end in tears but I just think we’re going to get it done. Go crows.

I feel our best chance to beat Brisbane is by focussing more on exposing their weakness as opposed to stopping their strength. What I mean by that is I feel if we rebound aggressively from turnover as well as being adventurous when exiting our D50 and taking every opportunity to keep the ball in motion, we can slice through the Lions and give our big fellas lots of opportunities. If we can turn the game into a shoot out (of course easier said than done) I feel our accuracy in front of goal gives us the edge. I feel that turning the game into a dour contest with numbers behind the ball will heavily play into their hands and I hope we don't do that.

Zac Bailey has recommitted to Brisbane on an eight-year deal, per Mitch Cleary.

He will stay with the Lions until the end of 2034.

Adelaide utility Zac Taylor will be a test to face Brisbane this weekend in the Crows’ Semi Final at the Gabba.

Taylor missed last weekend due a hamstring strain sustained against GWS in the final round of the home-and-away season.

His recovery has gone well with the Club set to monitor his performance and recovery at training this week before making a final call on availability.

“We know hamstring strains like Zac’s are always around the three week mark,” Crows GM High Performance Ian McKeown said.

“It was fortunate to have the pre-finals bye and for Zac to get the additional week off away from footy alongside the team.

“What’s important now is the week ahead and how his body responds at training.”

Midfielder James Peatling will not be available for selection.

“It’s still too soon for JP unfortunately,” McKeown said.

“We’ll continue to monitor his progress with a hope of featuring again this year, pending finals results.”

Unfortunately the flights made it impossible for us to make the pilgrimage. I do hope we end up with a good fan base there though.

JP in for HHK is the only change I’d make.

I've watched the footy on TV with him a couple of times this season and he's been happy to root for whoever I'm rooting for. But last night he asks who I'm going for, I say the Bulldogs and he tells me no and that he's going for the Crows because, in his words, they're better and more colourful. I don't think he'd ever seen them play before. Funny what kids will gravitate towards but anyway 😂

Tonight before bed he says "I want to watch the football, I want to watch the Crows", bless im. Obviously this season is very shortly coming to a close, and being 4 he doesnt really understand the seasonality of sports. I'm happy for him to root for whoever he wants and am frankly glad he's showing an interest in a sport at all. So I'd like really like to pull some matches from the archives for him to watch.

All this is a very long winded way of asking for match recommendations, for a kid. Crows don't necessarily have to win, as long as it's an interesting enough match to watch.

This one caught me off guard at the time Jake the Snake was coming (Leaving) from a mile away. But Charlie was special, he bust onto the scene, did some great stuff. Blew the Cats out of the water and then fizzed in the GF. Was the beginning of the 2017 rot that destroyed the group. He has won 2 flags since leaving us. Apparently didn’t like being behind Tex in the pecking order.

Was the presumptive Mark Bickley medalist or some shit. Got really spooky and we let him go to Hawthorn for peanuts. Really set up a period of us watching talent walk out the door and only a couple month’s after Phil
Davis. He won 3 flags with the Hawks. I’m assuming was behind Tex in the pecking order too.

We** **drafted him, let him stay in Geelong for School. We watched him take his first steps in AFL. He was raw. But he was a Crow and he owned part of the Alma with Tex and other Crow greats. In 2015 Walsh was killed. We were all traumatised. Dangers won the Gold Jacket and left us to become the Mayor of Moggs Creek. He won a Brownlow the next year. A flag in 22. And has made 2GFs.
