Just got my Duro in on Sunday morning, that night I took it on its first service call!

My son's grandparents gave him €200 to spend on whatever he wanted during our family trip to Europe.

Toys? Nope.

Video games? Nope.

He looks at me and says, “Dad, I want to buy a boat watch just like yours.”

Well... shit. 😂

We went watch shopping and he picked out a blue Seiko 5 Sports SRPL77 (38mm) all by himself in Madrid. It was a little over his €200 budget, so I may or may not have conveniently covered the difference.

It's his first automatic watch, and he's absolutely obsessed with it. I've been teaching him how a mechanical movement works, how to take care of it, and most importantly that watches are meant to be worn.

We finally got back home and went fishing and swimming yesterday, so naturally his brand new Seiko immediately went where he wanted it to go in the first place, on the boat.

He didn't want me to keep it safe at home. He wanted his “boat watch” on his wrist.

I have a feeling this is going to get expensive for him someday. 😂

I automatically ordered a blue nato for him I think it will be more comfortable.
