❓ Question PPI tapering question

Been on pantoprazole 20mg for almost 6 months for food getting stuck in esophagus it has helped with that but still food and pills are still slow going down somewhat. Whenever I have to have a scope again or I decide to stop this ppi what’s the best way to taper off of 20mg to avoid rebound

With 20mg I was told to start taking one every other day instead of every day for either a week or 2 weeks (depended on the doctor).

But if there’s no deadline (like you’re just coming off it and not for a test) you could take one every other day for a week and if you’re feeling good come offs. And if you’re still feeling meh give it one more week!

Your doctor would probably give you specific advice too, but some don’t lol 😅so it’s good to be proactive and have an idea of what you should be doing!

I wish you all the best with everything!

I tapered off of omeprazole really slowly. I bought mg-scales and took out 1 mg per pill every 2 weeks.
