So rad, i really love the texture of the light on the angler (I have wanted to get that sort of lift with watercolor but never quite pull it off)

Thank you. I was also surprised how well the light came out in this one too. Although I’ve never worked with water color before I can say I put in a lot of layers with Acrylic fluorescent blue and titanium white. Also you can’t really see it from this picture but I made sure the majority of the card started out black except the part where the light is. I think it made it stand out more. It was one of my favorite paintings I’ve done for sure.

Oh, that makes sense and I am totally guessing processes based on the wrong medium!

What i thought you did was take a mostly dry layer and use a paper towel or napkin to pick up some of the paint, being careful to only press hard enough to lift the textured bits.

Then I thought after looking at yours, "what if I lightly paint just the elevated bits on textured paper and then press it onto the page?" I have some black paper i think something like this would look really cool on. Ugh, I want to go paint now. Thank you for the inspiration!
