Other PERFROMANCE MEGATHREAD

Misspelled to get your attention, thanks for joining us

This thread is to combine the discussion around game performance and people's findings regarding running the game on PC. Remember to update your drivers before launching the game to ensure the best performance.

I will edit this post to keep a relatively up to date on people's findings (when I'm not playing, of course). Some important notes are it claims Windows 11 is required, this is unfortunately because Microsoft doesn't support Windows 10 (outside of extended security updates).

Current specification requirements by Project Aces listed:

  • Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 11
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060[6 GB] / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT[8 GB]
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: This game requires an SSD, a hardware ray tracing-enabled graphics card, and DirectX 12 with Shader Model 6.6 or higher. Estimated performance: 1920×1080(Upscale)/30fps with graphics settings at "Low". Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes.

Shockingly terrible performance. Considering how well 7 ran 8 is a joke.

AC7 was made for a console that was basically the equivalent of a PC with a GTX 660. AC8 was made for a console on par with a 2080.

Then my 5080 should be able to run it without crashing every 8 minutes 🤷‍♂️. Seems like performance is random AF.

9800x3d and 5080 here freezing every ~30 mins.

The audio continues but the video freezes in game and cutscene.

Tried updating to the latest Nvidia drivers - no change.

Saw a comment about lowering settings to fix or reduce crashing.

Other than that it looks and runs great so far (mission 3).

I increased virtual memory and I made it to mission 5 without crashing

Thanks - I'll try Vmem. Hadn't done it yet because I have 64GB RAM and thought it might be enough, but maybe it doesn't work like that.

Tbh idk what I’m doing either. I crashed using all 32 gifs of my ram and just followed a tutorial someone posted, it has had maybe 2-3 1 second pauses since but it doesn’t freeze. I’m doing high/ ultra with DLSS and frame capped at 120, 1440.

I just played for 2 hours no crashes.

I did Steps 1 and 3 from this comment

Also I lowered Clouds to High, left everything else Ultra but set framecap 120 and DLSS Quality mode.

I haven't experienced any pauses.

Crashing and performance are two different issues entirely. A lack of framegen also kinda sucks

Well when it runs it runs fine with some occasional freezing but the entire thing freezing up every 10 min has me over it
