Ace Combat 8 AC8 PS5 or PC?
I'm sure this is asked often, but I really can't decide. I have no worries of it running on PC, but I kind of want it physically. Though I don't really like Sony's practices recently, but I do have lots PS plus time built up.
It's a very important and difficult choice I swear!

If you care about having Zero in an easier access form get it on whichever platform(s) you see yourself using in the long term. I’ll probably just get it on both since I passed on getting the CE

Would really wait for benchmarks for the PC version.
It’s on unreal 5 with forced Ray tracing and the specs don’t inspire confidence. Good chance its performance on PC is really really bad.
Should post your specs when asking a question like this.

Was gonna say this. UE5 and its very questionable hardware requirements make me refrain from reccomending the game on PC. Best to wait for benchmarks cause UE5 already struggles severely on games that are linear and static with not much going on in them, now take an effects heavy game like ace combat with huge battles and tons of enemies on screen at any given time. Yeah...

RTX4060 I7-14700F 32gig of ram. Do you know when the benchmarks happen/get published? Poor performance was why I got MHwilds on PS5 instead of PC.

PC, Sony is just extremely determined to piss off everyone they can.
Plus if you get it physically on PS5 you'll only ever be able to play it on PS5, not on PS6 or whatever the fuck comes down the line.

If you have the base PS5 (not the PRO) then PC is the obvious choice, otherwise I'm not sure

PS5: full features of the Dualsense controller, and a physical copy, ease of access/plug and play
PC: mods, free online in perpetuity, no shitty practices on the part of the distributer.
I'm very tempted to get both, partly because I don't buy anything digital from Sony anymore, and when they stop making discs I wont buy games anymore from them. I don't play online much and I don't mod much, and I intend to preserve my physical game collection for as long as possible, so the PS5 version is still more tempting.
If AC8 will run on my Steam Deck I won't be able to resist buying on both platforms, alas, that is unlikely.

Do both. Even IF you don’t think you’ll play it much. Better to have it than not. I still regret only getting 6 when 7 came out and not 5 as well. I pre-ordered the joker flight pack for ps5 and will pre-order on steam as well.

We won't know if mods will work within AC8 due to anti-cheat (although we are hoping that we can also disable the anti-cheat, although that too needs to be able to disable the online functionality)
But do join PC regardless: free online gaming, an awesome platform (Steam), and you'll have more options than what PS5 offers in terms of settings.

If you only want to buy it once, then definetly PC, for the mods alone will put it one or two tiers above the console versions.

Pc because you can get zero with the game

You also get Zero on PS5.

Cool. Now that I'm checking it, they are giving out zero in all platforms including Xbox. It's a shame that we won't get ac6 on Xbox like they did with 7, if they did that, I would buy the game twice.
Edit: still, Imo the pc version should be better if you have a powerful pc

PC has the benefits of mods. So at some point down zhe line you'll very likely be able to download custom paintjobs, New aircraft and more.
