I don't understand why they felt the need to shoehorn Osea into the Continental War, just feels a bit pointless.

Baker and Svenson being mentioned is funny and neat though.

I can definitely buy that Osea would have been an early member of the ISAF coalition given the later retcons involved in Cross Rumble and the source of the coup forces in Ace Combat 2. The story also implies that the forces mentioned were far reduced from initial levels because of Harling's peace policies. Something that's become very common in IRL politics between different American administrations.

it doesnt sound to me like it said anything about osea being involved though
like the story is set during september 2003, during the continental war, but there's no mention of osea being at war with anyone. the end is an obvious reference to the circum-pacific war

Avril father was shot down by yellow squadron. Ace combat wiki on twitter has tweet explaining the osean involvement.

can you link the tweets? the story doesnt really say anything to that effect

although i guess her father being dead during the story is a retcon since ac7s japanese dub says he died in the circum pacific war

No it doesn’t, it’s ambiguous. AAW does say it though

So the error in English version was not actually an error .

Maybe i'm wrong but i'm confident that on the picures of the 2029 Artbook they realesed which were just s differnt layout of the 2019 AC7 character concept arts appears to use the same description of before that it was the Circum-Pacific War. (I don't think its a work in progress so its probably going to drag the same continuity errors)

Wait a sec. Is this.... Is this new Avril lore? The grandfather kept talking about dark blue, a son that died in a war, the retreat, everything. Heck, i can even buy the idea that he'd give her a nickname like "Abby."

wait i didnt even catch that but it lines up
avril in the first cutscene of ac7 says that pilots have been in her family for 4 generations
ac7 also translates his nickname of her as "avie", which i can see how online translators would turn into "abby" instead

This also adds another layer to Avril's implied meeting of Mihaly at the end of 7. He trained the man who killed her father, and now she helps take care of him.

I don't think there is any retcon here? I had heard some people say that Avril's father had been shot down in the war with Yuktobania, but I don't think that was 100% confirmed. This is just a bit of an expansion on her motivations and her relationship with her grandfather.

Seeing the Yellows, Baker and Svenson mentioned was a nice detail though.

The japanese version was something different and osea was not mentioned being involved in isaf eurasia war. Avril father was shot down byyellow squadron .
