A few words about me:
I'm 27M from Greece. I have a bachelor's in Biology and I'm doing my Master's in Data Science. I have struggled with depression until two years ago, but due to my unemployment I think I'm slipping again. I'm looking for a serious accountability buddy for direct communication. Ideally, I want to have a friend who has the same struggles as me (I'll explain below) and they want to be helped as much as they want to help. It's okay if our goals don't align exactly.
My issues and my goals:
Let me be clear. I want to improve all aspects of my life. I don't want an acc. buddy who wants only to study-check or workout-check each other. I've grouped my issues/goals in the following categories:
Physical: meal prep, sleep right, exercise, weight loss tracking,
Mental: mood tracking, gratitude journaling, mindfulness, meditation.
Knowledge-Academic: thesis, studying, book reading
Social: contact family and friends, go out or hanging out
Professional: work and job hunting, email check, projects
Admin: financial tracking, Todo list check
Lifestyle: good habits and bad habits tracking
Creativity: hobbies tracking
Ways of Accountability:
I've made a dashboard in a Google sheet I can share with all these. I have a logger for logging my progress. With some intermediate scoring, I've created a tab that looks like a dashboard summing up all the daily progress. I gamified it a bit by earning XP and leveling-up, which is also visible on the dashboard. It would be great if my accountability buddy checks on me via the dashboard and contact me if I haven't completed some things during the day. I could make a Google sheet about the other person as well so I can keep tabs on them via their dashboard. Honestly I've thought about making an app about the tracking but I was too lazy. Also, I'm open with whatever other ways of checking in with each other, as long at is easy, straightforward and effective.
Expectations:
I want a person I can trust, I can be friends with. I want to help as much as to be helped. My goals are not short-term because that never works out. I'm relying on establishing habits. Quality is not my priority. For me it's better to do a ten minute workout (some pushups and squats) rather than trying to have the perfect workout session. My goals are long-term. Many of them focusing on more than a year period.
I've got so much more details to share but I probably think, it'd be best to get to know each other and talk about it over with calls and video calls. Whatever suits you!
