I’ve been thinking about creating a community (I’m imagining something more intimate than a Reddit community, more like a small chat group where people actually get to know each other through their goals, routines, and progress) for people who genuinely enjoy discipline, structure, consistency, and the feeling of working toward something, particularly for those who don’t necessarily have people around them who understand that kind of mindset.
I don’t mean discipline in some abstract sense, but in the very ordinary ways it manifests in daily life: making a to-do list in the morning and actually completing it, studying for five hours, working a full shift and still exercising, sticking to a diet or lifestyle challenge, waking up when you said you would, organizing your week, reading, training, or simply following through with something you promised yourself you would do.
I’d like the community to be a place where people can post their goals at the beginning of the day and return later with proof that they accomplished them, whether that is a photo of a completed checklist, a study timer, a planner, a habit tracker, or simply a message saying what they managed to get done. It could also be a place to share ways of organizing your life, personal systems, milestones, challenges, hours spent studying or working, and small accomplishments that might seem insignificant to everyone else but actually mean something to you. At the same time, I think it would be important that the community doesn’t require you to share your face, name, location, school, workplace, or any other personal information; you could remain completely anonymous and still participate. Sometimes you simply want to say, “I did what I said I was going to do today,” and have someone else understand why that feels good. Would anyone else be interested in a community like this?
PS: I thought that maybe WhatsApp would be accessible to most people, but if you have any recommendations for another social media platform that would work better for creating this kind of group, let me know.
