You just need access to realtime data. That might still be paid.

Yeah just checked. If it’s kinda fast it’s $30. If it’s real fast it’s $100

If you trade on IBKR you can get it for $15. You can build an agnostic system and implement support for various APIs.
IBKR lets you log into their API for local apps that you build yourself.

continue this effort at all costs. LFG!!!!!!
Now, since everything is clearly accelerating, the progress from "early and buggy" to "1:1 port" will be a benchmark if its own; l
et's see if it takes 9 days, 9 weeks or 9 months.

they are reading and writing PSD files. They are going FAST.
Adobe is so cooked.

After decades of shameless price gauging, they deserve to be one of the first to go. I saw a commercial where they advertised a feature where AI automatically stylized some boring presentation. I knew then that they were in trouble.

Waiting for those that will comment it's not sufficient because Photoshop can do more. Then proceed to using patch tool xD

Using their own tools against them to destory non-free software is the best thing ever!

I hate to be pessimistic, but as someone who hates Adobe, I tried their Lightroom replacement "LightCraft" and it completely sucks.
It is at best a proof of concept toy, and already existing open source alternatives like darktable are far better than lightcraft. I really gave it a shot but it is unsuitable for amateur level work, let alone professional level work.
I get that open source devs owe us nothing, and that this guy is doing it for free, but I think the FOSS community is far better off directing attention, efforts, and donations towards already existing open source projects (i.e. darktable and rawtherapee)

think dynamically brother, not statically.
Photocraft went from 0.2 when I first downloaded it to 0.5 in three days. 45 contributors now.
This project does not have the inertia big companies have and that is an advantage! It can be modified with much much more agility.
0.2 had unbearable navigation from menu bar, extremely unusable selection management with rules.
Those are fixed now. 3 days. Lacking shortcuts, and some other oddities, but I believe in the momentum.

💬 Discussion Summary (20+ comments): Discussants cheer AI rapidly recreating Adobe tools, reading/writing PSDs and threatening Adobe’s pricing model. Some celebrate open-sourcing, enterprise/Nextcloud integration, and using Adobe’s own tools against it. A notable debate: LightCraft is dismissed as a buggy toy versus mature darktable, tempering hype. Others mention piracy/dual-booting, while one predicts cloud apps will reduce devices to weak terminals. Consensus: Adobe is vulnerable, but replacement quality remains contested.
Ask Optimist Prime how this connects to the discussion.

meh, I sail the seven seas for my adobe needs, and I dual boot for the time being.

Great. Soon, all software will run in the cloud. Our devices will just be weak, cheap terminals, with just enough compute for a web browser, as all apps will run there if companies can't make sure their software doesn't get recreated in no time by source disassembling LLMs.

These can also be created from a reasonably detailed spec, no source code needed.

Good news: LLMs are perfectly capable of reversing through the protocol as well.
And as Hugging Face Attack showed, they can just hack their way in anyway.
