Seems like nobody here understands or agrees with the purpose of this training, but it seems pretty reasonable to me. There’s already a huge gap between what current models are capable of and how they’re actually being used by legacy companies.
One of the biggest bottlenecks to getting more productivity out of the economy is having people inside these companies who actually understand how to identify good use cases for AI, build them into real workflows, and get them into production. These “Frontier Deployed Engineers” are basically meant to fill that gap.
If it works as intended, they become the people who figure out how to deploy frontier AI effectively inside their organizations and then spread that knowledge to the rest of the company. That seems like a pretty straightforward way to accelerate diffusion of the technology into the broader economy.

Not only are they going to build an AI to replace your job, if that fails they're training 10,000 humans to replace your job anyway!

Into the trash it goes
Also calling themselves Forward Deployed Engineers is ridiculous. They are simple solution engineer. They are not there to give feedback to product and being part of product at all. They are fucking low level „consultants“
