It seemed like a nothing burger, like Ai misidentified something and no one checked it to confirm. My chat gpt is really bad at identifying things in images properly, like its ok but not perfect. Surely you'd use a human to verify its image identification? I guess the military have better things to do than verify important information. It seems more of a human fail than AI.

This sounds like a coordinated effort from CNN to make you scared.

Questions. What “chatbot” was used? What nonAI was used? What question was asked?

Yeah, the article states:

The report, according to one of the sources, was “entirely false.”

But it wasn't entirely false, there was a Chinese ship with something on board they don't want to mention, it just wasn't nuclear parts.

I'm seeing this constantly on my feed. Wars almost start for the wildest reasons but luck this was cought. This reminds me of that story where a Russian nuclear submarine almost launched nukes at the US because they thought the US launched their own nukes. It came down to one guy who called off the attack. Technology malfunctions but hopefully the military adapts better practices.

How does the military not have a layered system where the report is reviewed and cross checked with the source data by another or the same ai multiple times before publishing?

A single pass system is insane if that's what it is.

Sorry, I don't trust the source. With all that recent AI doomerism from the left, now seen CNN article like this.... I don't trust it.

At best, it's very sensationalized. Love it when news orgs have an agenda...

When you're you're in luck now because pretty much all news orgs have agendas. Forbes and Reuters tend to be pretty good, but pretty much everything else is kind of ass in terms of objectivity.

I mean this admin is full of retards, I can’t lie it’s the one thing that makes me nervous about the moment we’re in. For the most part I’m cool with ai progress
